how do you have half a student?
My question exactly - how?
And, how about Highland Park - are they too good to be counted in with other Texas students?

Apparently Longview is too. We are not on this list easy. Man we lose in the first round of the playoffs and we get left out of everything.

On the other hand, I've read that it had to do with how "feeder" school kids (be they 8th, 9th or 10th grade) are counted against the "final" HS they will attend.
Either explaination could net you a half of student.

how the heck does that work then??

There are quite a few schools missing from the list so the rank is only for that particular list. I don't see Grapevine, Colleyville Heritage or Katy for example.

If they take the top 245 schools, which has been stated on this board, then Lindale with 990 students will be the cut-off for 5A?

there are lots of schools missing. these numbers while mostly accurate, are not the official no's as the uil will supply in 6 weeks.

Amazing PISD equals more than 6 SLC's combined We should have won state with all the kids we have.
I guess the argument for 1 school distrcict and success is pretty moot.

Trinity and Bell have been known to have fluctuating populations, but how did Bell go from being smaller than Trinity to having 700 more students? There's something strange about those numbers; there's no way Trinity is barely a 5A school.

how do you have half a student?
You're in school to learn. Some people have half a brain!:p
OK, they take average attendance. If you have 2046 students on one day and 2047 the next day, your average attendance is 2046.5 .

Good work doing the list SLCDad!

Trinity and Bell have been known to have fluctuating populations, but how did Bell go from being smaller than Trinity to having 700 more students? There's something strange about those numbers; there's no way Trinity is barely a 5A school.
well when they saw those HUGE tongan kids they thought they were 2 people, now they realized their just one

how the heck does that work then??
Plano East went to D1 because they were the largest district team in the playoffs from 8-5A. Plano and Allen had to go to D2.

Why is Trinity so small? In the previous re-alignment weren't they around 3000?
I was wondering the same thing. 2926 two years ago.

I don't see Bryan on it either. Maybe the really consolidated into a new school which has yet to be named.
Maybe they sent the Aggies home because they couldn't teach them anything!:p

It all depends on what numbers Madison turns in. Reagan is bigger than Judson is now. I'll assume Madison is smaller, but they might also be over 3K.
Judson and Wagner combine for 5400 according to the site, so they increased 600 students in the last 2 years.

And one more thing--I'm pretty sure Lake Travis and Austin Lake Travis are one and the same. I don't know which enrollment figure is right, but it looks like they'll stay 4A either way.

No, Judson has never been D2. Projected numbers for next year are now different from what was turned in. Judson will have close to 3600 and Wagner is expecting 2600 (bring in the portables in their second year of existence). BTW, it is not Converse Wagner.

PESH, we played them earlier this year at dragon stadium..and they had NOBODY there..same goes for last year when we played them out in plano, they didnt have THAT many people for a school of their size..pretty pathetic
Nobody wanted to pay your parking fees!
Actually the SLC games were both pre-season. Only about half of the regular crowd show up for any of the pre-season games. My family loves football whether it's a District game or not, but not everyone takes the pre-season weeks seriously.

I was noticing that too. Wagner HS is in San Antonio, not Converse TX, therefore it is San Antonio Wagner. Oh and another thing, its not Judson Wagner either. I thought I would add that in also (for others clarification of course, Im sure you know).

How did Judson get to 6200 between the schools so fast. Did we steal back from Madison?:p
