Who do you think is the best defensive back in the state of TX?
For me, hands down Kenneth Beasley, he's pretty much a shoe in for All-American and is just a play maker on the field.
Leonard Hewitt is also a great defensive back out of the d1 breeding grounds of lufkin.

Gotta go w/ Hewitt w/ 11 int's last year (missing 2 games), while making one w/ a torn ACL...but, don't know too much about any other DB out there....I would like to hear about others thoughts on this

I would have to say Hewitt from Lufkin and Joesph(sp) from PA Memorial. Hewitt just flys all over the field, and makes plays because of his intelligence and athleticism.

i dont know, he looked pretty good against ya'll in the title game intercepting ya'lls QB when his team needed it, pretty good play for a Soph in a HUGE game against a GREAT team if you ask me....

like i said Sendejo is a BEAST, and did relitively well against SLC's WRs, though Renfro did burn him several times, even though they didnt throw to Renfro the majority of the time he did beat him.....but then again, who couldnt Renfro burn?????

I don,t know much about the others, but Hewitt is at the top of the list. You guys just need to see this kid.Plays basketball and can jump out of the gym.He will be a backup QB this year in case some did not know, and his knee rehab is coming along nicely, just hope his senoir year he will be back at 100%.

Hewitt was the best I saw all of last year, and I don't expect less this time around.
Dragon, Will Thompson had an outstanding season for Katy last year. I believe he ended up with 93 tackles (not bad for playing mostly at corner), 4 interceptions, 17 pass break-ups, a blocked kick (2 rushes for 62 yards and a score and 6 catches for 184 yards). He had an 18 avg punt return. He was selected to the AP 3rd team all state.
On his size, I'd guess he's probably 5'9, 175 pounds but I could be wrong. His athletic ability alone could get him a scholarship. I fully expect him to sign with a D1-A school.

i hope you are right about the scholy. the best athlete on the 02 team had an unbelieveable year at cb, giving up 0 tds and was 1st team all-state, and got no looks. he was about the same size and everything. college coaches have some criteria i don't agree with, but i guess that's why they are where they are and i'm typing about them.

John Murphy from Garland is a playmaker. He was unanimous 1st team all district as a jr. Kid has a nose for the football and, more often than not, there is an EXPLOSION when he gets there. Check out his highlights on Sunshinepreps.

If you go by stats, I down know of any one that can match Hewitt, I may be wrong ,so if I am, who is it. Barring injuries this Kid will be playing on Sundays in four years.Thats one more year of HS and three yrs college, leaving after the junior year.Remember I said it first.......

Dragonsdaddy, sorry for the confusion, but yes this is regardless of classification. I have to say Hewitt, and Beasley are two that are just on another level, sort of like Korey Mangum was this year.

yeah, if you watched Sendejo and Renfro go at it, Renfro would run right by Sendejo on fly routes, i dont think Renfro caught any of them, because Sendejo was smuthering Renfro on every other route and Chase Daniel wasnt looking too much at Renfro but he everthrew him a couple of times, but i think that Sendejo is EASILY one of the best CBs i saw all season....
