I thought we should have a place to talk about the EAGLES
during Spring Ball and beyond.
Let this be a place to disguss and NOT tear down players, coaches, OR eachother.

Good Luck to all the Kids. for an injury free Spring. I am also hoping that we don't see any injuries during 7 on 7 like last year.
I'd be interested to find out what SQT's our guys are going to participate in over the summer?

With the UIL postponing baseball until May 11th and we have a game against Wylie to play to finish off baseball for all practical purposes. To advance we would have to beat them and that prospect dosent look well. I think there are 4 football players on the baseball team and I was just wondering if they would get to practice football while still in baseball season.

Ma bruthas and sistas . . . . . .
I stopped by the stadium on Tuesday and
watched about an hour of practice. I saw some good
things from some new receivers out there.
I loved the work being done by the "D" coaches.
They were not happy at all with anything except
perfection. They rode the DB's and LB's in their
coverage drills.
I enjoyed the energy I saw there.
I'm looking forward to dropping by whenever
I can the next couple of weeks.
GO EAGLES!

I would imagine they could start the design process as soon as they wanted to (selected an Architect). Working backwards from the stated completion of 2012, wich has to mean ready for play in the Fall of 2012 then my guess is they would break ground 9 -12 months prior to that.
I am planning on having a conversation or two about having an IP camera mounted on the Athletic facility so we can watch the construction real time instead of bothering the nice people on here with daily updates ;) :D

Not a bad ideal but not everone gives up their season tickets even when the last child graduates. The couple next to me did not make a game last year since they have their grandchild most Friday nights. I've already spoken to them and they intend on keeping them.

You do need to consider that, even if you find a season pass holder that is willing to sell you their tickets, it would only be for the upcoming season. The rights to those tickets will remain in the name of the original purchaser. You won't automatically have a right to those tickets next year, and the next, etc., and will be dependent on that purchaser renewing their option next year. If any season ticket holder does not renew their option (in their own name) those tickets go into the bucket to be resold. A season ticket holder can only sell you his tickets, not the seats. Does that make sense? The season seats are non-transferable.

MOAHs...with the advent of a newly constructed stadium, does it start all anew with present season ticket holders having the early numbers? Conceivably, early sale of season ticket holders would sell out rapidly enough to but down some of the service on the debt?

I could kick myself for I had the chance to get some year before last.

You must have your priorities. Surgery is only day and season tickets are forever. Leave her cab fare she will be fine or if you really want to get away with it, get a limo to pick her up, while expensive it will alleviate the impending s..t storm that is going to come.
I had to stay out all night for mine. They went on sale at 8am in the morning and I got there at 830 pm the night before and it rained like crazy.

Well they looked pretty good tonight. Heck of a lot of players more then 5 groups of O & D including subs for each group. Some good potential WR's, DB's and RB that we need replacements for. The starting OL looked as good if not better then last years. Tucker was not dressed as playing baseball still. Matt looked back to form. Would've been interesting to see what the plan is with both Tucker and Matt on the field, guess we have to wait and see. Defense looked pretty solid, one DB was little small but his speed and scrappy play made up for it. Will be better in 2 weeks at the Blue/White scrimmage.

I went there this evening. The tempo was good. It's about what I expected after 1 1/2 weeks in pads. They are focusing on x's and o's. Brown looked great, OL looked like they were focused. They also looked large. McNulty had a few pancakes with snotbubbles, same with Pearson. Burleson looked agile in his footwork. Recievers looked marginal with room for improvement. The Allen dee looked aggressive and swarming. Bud Spears looked impressive and ready for a breakout already. He looks big too. Kickers looked good, punters looked OK. Bottom line is Westerberg looks like he has them dialed in and all phases of the game. Looked OK after 1 1/2 weeks. Not much really to report except kids are workin hard, nobody coppin any attitudes. everyone workin on x's and o's and operating in correct lanes.

Absolutely, we had a good time. It was mostly me and a bunch of moms. So I got to hang out all night with some hot looking moms and drink wine. It was pretty interesting. Fortunately since we got here early, when the downpour came we were under cover, the wind blew some on us but by and large it was tolerable. A couple of the moms got tickets down the row from me and one behind me so I see them and husbands every week at the games. All in all pretty cool so I would do it again. Thankfully I make sure I make sure I get me renewal in early and send via fed ex so someone has to sign for it just in case there is an error.
See its going to be a bit longer for those playing baseball (Tucker and others) to participate in Spring football. Allen swept SGP in baseball and moves on to second round. Go Eagles, even if it isn't football.

Allen Depth
Allen has surprised me with their depth with the Junior Class. Bud Spears really impresed me along with Brad McNulty. Spears reminds me of former PESH Keenan Robinson except a bigger more agile model. McNulty looked like a road grader and used linebackers to pave his roads along with DT's. Kyree has a great motor, hits the hole quick, similar to the way DMartin used to with Allen. Allen has another QB who is a sophmore. Kid looked really good on the run/pass option. Great moves.

My son and I hung out at the practice
today . . . . . AGAIN(man I have no life).
The DB's and LB's look soooooo good already
that I think if the DL can get some push and
the whole "D" can keep their heads straight . . . . .
This "D" CAN be terrific.
Some of the young receivers need some work
concentrating on the ball . . . . . others
are dang-stinkin'-sharp.
Only a week left of spring ball. :(
It will really be something to see how these
kids come back in August. Two months off to hit
the weights and conditioning on their own
could change and ENHANCE quite a few things.
Our LB's are going to KILL people(Yipeeeeee!)
I'm diggin' listening to coach Gambill "lighing up"

I have a 7 year old the same way. Last year my son got Tucker to sign his church bulletin after the Stoney Point game. Then he got about 20 autographs at the Celebration. BTW A-Town sports is supposed to get replica jerseys that you can get any number you want on it. They should be here in June. My son said he wanted 11 on the front and 10 on the back. But as big as he is I told him maybe 70 or 99 would suit him better.;)

I guess my youngest should get the # .25 on his jersey with his size!:o
Does anyone know if #5 practice jersey is Jerimiah Williams "little" brother?
I haven't seen much of the RB's. I know who Kyree is(STUD!), but wondering

Yeah #5 could be alot like his older brother...although last week during night practice he had some trouble getting the hand-offs and once even stood there watching the D pickup the ball. Sure something the coaches will correct.

I'm sure it might have been the wide-eyed moment of having
a good "D" coming after you type thing. Hopefully, that was
his moment and now he can get on with gittin 'er dun.
I would think that there is a moment for each of these kids when they
stand there in a daze. A 100 years ago I can remember running
a deep slant and catching the ball. Being behind the LB's I figured
I was home free. Then the strong safety just fired the top of his
helmet into my face(two-bar, Staubach type, face mask). I went
flying back 5 yards onto my keester with my helmet turned sideways.
I realized right then and there that I had to keep my head thinking
ALWAYS, it was not just a part -time thing. we ALL have a moment
of "awakening". Some of us wait until Texas Stadium vs Rowlett before
we shake our heads and wake up! ! ! ! !
Does anybody know if #13 is the soph QB or is it #9? Number 13 seems to
be pretty energetic and an accurate passer. About 6" in height would be
greatly appreciated though.
And, #14, #18, #19, #25 and #88 sure have good hands out there.
One week 'til Spring Game '09 ! ! ! !

ALLENFANDINGO5....best thing about the game was that it was played and no major injuries. Although the OL was broken up for both squads, Carter/Chainey has them mauling people. This 7v7 season should really help the QB's and recievers. Kickers looked good, punting looked OK, DL survived, LB's looked stout & impressive. Bud Spears has bad intentions when he gets to the ball. DB's looked better than I expected. My nuggets for the evening are Bud Spears and a Freshman QB #11 Brandon ( did not catch his last name) He has some Freshman tendancies but the potential is there if he works hard this summer. **The other best thing about last night was the State Championship was a distant memory. Bill,
I have to agree with you on your "nuggets".
#11 showed some good things for the future. He seemed
very confident standing there going through the progression of
receivers, etc. There were sooooo many kids out there during the
JV game . . . . I could hardly keep track of which was which.
There was a # 50 that was playing QB in the scrimmage on the north
half that looked to be about 6'6" 230lbs. I appreciate him wanting
to play QB, but I'd love to see him on the DL!
I think the DB's should be pretty good. Reeves was just too awesome
to replace. Coverage should be ok I think. 7 on 7 should help
out quite a bit there.
I'm sure the kids had fun and there was enough there to raise some
eyebrows. August will be well worth waiting for I believe.

Good Write up from The Star. Uh I mean Allen American.
Allen Spring Game just like the real thing
BY Kevin Hageland Staff Writer
(Created: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 10:16 PM CDT)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday night’s Spring Game had all the trappings of an actual game.
There were players in blue and white, referees, the training staff, a game clock, plenty of Allen fans in the stands and Eagles cheerleaders rooting on their team. Just about the only thing differentiating the Spring Game from a regular season Allen game was the fact there was parking available near Eagle Stadium.
But that’s the point as Allen wants its next crop of players to be prepared for the Friday night lights, even if they are on Wednesday.
Eagles offensive coordinator Jeff Fleener headed up the Blue team while defensive coordinator Terry Gambill led the White squad. The two coaches drafted their teams ahead of time.
The split squads, which also featured JV players, give players a chance to bond with new teammates while also throwing off any opposing coaches that might be watching in the stands. Further helping with the latter point is the fact that Allen doesn’t print rosters for the game and Eagles players frequently switch jerseys.
Blue, quarterbacked by Matt Brown, got the ball first and immediately began moving down the field. Brown consistently handed the ball to Kyree Owens, who saw some action in the 2008 playoffs despite being just a sophomore. Brown had been told not to run for much of the spring, but showed he could still move just fine with a third down scramble for a conversion on the first drive of the evening.
That drive continued into White territory, but Blue was stopped on a fourth down inside the 40. The same thing occurred on Blue’s second drive as Brown and Owens continued to effectively move the ball via hand-offs and screen passes. Brown even lined up as a wide receiver before the drive was over. Blue got inside the White 15-yard-line this go around, but was stopped once more on fourth down.
“We did a good job driving the ball down the field,” Brown said. “We just couldn’t finish.”
White, which was led by quarterback Tucker Carter, didn’t have a problem finishing, but that’s largely because the team wasn’t able to move the ball early. White’s first drive was deterred after a penalty was called on the biggest gain of the opening quarter and the first 10 minutes ended in a scoreless tie. That would remain the case at the half.
“We were a little sloppy at first,” Carter said. “But as the game went on we were able to finish some of those drives.”
A new half brought the only turnover of the night as White fumbled early in the third quarter and Blue took over.
That didn’t result in points, but the third quarter wouldn’t end scoreless as White got to work.
Doing much of the heavy lifting was Jonathan Williams. His big run midway through the third quarter brought cheers from the crowd as well as taunts to Jeremiah Williams, who was sitting in the stands. Jonathan is the younger brother of Allen’s former running back.
Although defense was a theme for much of the night, White got on the board with 2:34 left in the third when Carter connected with Corbin Tancredi for the score. Blue moved into hurry-up offense mode after that, but had to punt it away as the quarter came to an end with White in front, 7-0.
The score remained the same with less than two minutes to go in the fourth. White was backed up into a 3rd-and-15 and it appeared as though Blue would get a shot at a game-tying drive.
It wasn’t to be though as Alec Morris connected on a 44-yard toss to Terrell Patel for another White touchdown. The extra point was good with 1:38 remaining in the game and set the final score at 14-0.
“I thought it was a pretty good game,” said Tom Westerberg, Allen head coach. “This served as a good culmination to all the work we’ve done this spring.”
Keeping with the theme of the Spring Game being a real game, White cheered wildly as the clock expired and gave their coach a celebratory shower. But instead of a bucket, White’s leaders were sprayed with water from individual bottles.
Great write up there and described what I saw. Made me ready for this fall but will have to just wait and enjoy the summer until then.

Clearly, the KTs knowledge of all the Lettermen and their contribution to last season's State Championship success is a bit lacking. I would post more detail but I am way to overloaded with work to get into it now. We have the summer.
I am fine being #5 on their ranking. We do have some incredible talent to replace on "D" and a stout pre district to contend with. I do have to compliment the guys on their detail it does keep getting better and better.

I agree that is a lot of work those guys put in to go into so much detail about each team. I would question some of their logic though. They rank Katy high for having a ton of lettermen returning. We basically have the same number of returning starters and I would bet we have as many lettermen. I aint mad at 'em, if this board were ran by SLC or Allen people then their teams would have been ranked higher too:D. I know with what Ive been seeing at practice this ought to be a fun year to watch Allen football.

My opinion is that Pre-Season is Pre-Season. I mentioned this on another thread...you can be Ranked #1 or Ranked #50..it does not make any differance. The most important component of that is how the kids come together and compete as a Team - how the team gells. This is where the McGuires, the Lineweavers, the Westerbergs put their stamp on the team. I am convinced that Allen's district, and how difficult it is prepares them well for what lies ahead.

+10. Everyone knows who the best teams on paper are to a degree. Teams will either put it together or they won't, just depends on how the season plays out.

I agree and wasn't complaining about being #5 as I like being around there as you don't walk around with a giant target on your back ;)
It is a little surprisng that RRSP only 2nd time in the playoffs and first time that far, lost main defensive player and gets ranked #2, but no biggie.
FB Hightower down to #10.
Still do not see Copperas Cove up at #13 while Abilene was down to #12. I would have put Cove around #20 from what I saw of them last year in Waco. I know Abilene had the Eagle curse instead of Allen last year going 10-0 during the season to lose round one but they sure looked good last year.
I do like the write-ups even if they are off with seating.

Don't see you scheduling Longview at Longview. That is a game most 5A teams would not win. I assume you have a quality pre-district AND district schedule. Perhaps you would want to compare last years winning percentages of the great teams you have scheduled to the "patsys" Allen has scheduled.

It might not be 4 stout games, let's see #6 Trinity, #1 4A, and Mexico National Champions who are 10-1 against TX 4A teams.

Didn't say you did...but you commented about someone elses so what do you expect.:p
Was not throwing stones, you guys are awfully sensitive. Did not say ours was stout except for NS and you never know which PW team is going to show up, they gave CH fits last year in the playoffs.
Longview should be a good game but the other 2 not so much. I do not get the whole Mexican thing but oh well.
Actually after realignment we tried to schedule Allen for a home and home and ya'll picked the Mexican team instead.
I disagree with that, Carroll refused to play us in non-district my friend!:)
Only went with the Mexican team when no one else in TX would fill the open date.

Nothing sensitive...do agree the Mexican team turned out to be a flop after all the hype of being 10-1 against TX teams and Rockwall has dropped off with Rockwall-Heath opening. You guys even stopped playing when they took a 28-0 lead before you came back to win. Seems to be the case with them as it seems even when we should lose the game to them some how it turns around, like when JT Perry returned the kick-off for a TD with 3 seconds left after the safety.;)

That is incorrect.
That is incorrect.
And what are you basing this one?
I know I only heard second hand from Westerberg's talk with the Touchdown club, but that was his comment that he had not found anyone to fill in that spot as no area team would play Allen then including SLC. Then some suggested to him at the coaches conference to talk with Monterey Tech from Mexico.

I got my info from Wasson in that we wanted a different week initially, however the week that ya'll play Monterey was open for both and Allen declined, who knows coaches spin things also.
Best case scenario is you guys go DII and we meet in the playoffs.

Understand both our comments may or may not be true, coaches statements only. Funny as I heard ya'll turned down a couple good teams last year when North Shore didn't happen due to Ike too?
As for DII, it all depends on Plano and PESH making the playoffs or not to decide if we go DI or DII. If they do then we go DII, if either doesn't then DI. I would say this year it's more up to Plano West as I see it. That is all 3 Plano schools are competing for the 2 spots in our district with Allen and Wylie taking the first two. :D

Stout? Two 4A teams and a team from Mexico, yes Trinity in and of itself is an undertaking but seriously..........stout is quite an overstatement.Comparatively speaking our pre district schedule is stout with the exception of Monterey Tech. Longview,#1 4a, Rockwall(who I might say gave y'all fits last time y'all played), and Trinity. I think that is enough proof to say that it is pretty stout. Not being sensitive either, just cant figure where your logic is behind saying our schedule is weak.We may be fortunate to get out of of Longview with a W. They played us good last year with a lot of youth at the skilled postions. Rockwall is not that far removed from being a 5A school. Trinity, need I say more about that program. But I do have a request. Please beat up on PWSH to the point where they loose their self-esteem. We need PESH to be able to beat them so we might be able to go D2.:D

I said Allen was going to be really good this year. I didn't say they were stupid. You want to play with the big boys, it's always better to do it in the playoffs where it really counts. You got that right. Their is nothing Allen has in Common with Plano when in it comes to comparing the programs. You got your 1 title last year and it was an impressive run, Your team got every break and bounce and key play to win 6 playoff games. That is a sign of a good team, that was 2008. This is 2009,The hardest thing to do is win a 2nd title especially back to back. Their are only a handful ot teams who have won multiple titles in 5a and even fewer who have won back to back. Which is something Plano has done and Allen hasnt'. So your right when you say we have nothing in common.

I see that you are giving some credit to Allen. So you do use some rationale in your statements. But you still try to run around the issue. That issue is that Allen is now the big dog on the 8-5a porch and Plano is out in the yard getting rained on and waiting for the scraps. There is nothing wrong in waiting for scraps if you can accept that is what you deserve until you can whip the big dog on the porch. I know that Plano is capable of returning there or any school in 8-5a can do it. But your defense of Plano and what it has done is to say the least LAUGHABLE.

You deflect the issue of Allen's capability of repeating and winning a 2nd title. You guys have never been in that position. So we'll see how well the ball bounces this season and the playoffs. How hungry the 09 team is etc. Odd's of Allen repeating is stacked very high. You'll get everyone's best effort game in and game out. Not sure anyone is predicting a repeat title, district yes. We always get everyones best game and the last 3 years your Wildcats have failed while bringing theirs! Haven't been the underachieving Eagles in over a decade, now the Wildcats have been several times this decade as well as since the their last title. All I hear from you is sarcasim and trying to put others down if for no other reason then year after year of getting your hopes up for the Wildcats who fail time and time again. That just shows you how hard it is to win a title. Yes it's been 15 years and is Plano's longest drought since the 50's. That just shows you how hard it is to win a title and two win back to back well that's down right nearly impossible regardless how good you might think you are going into the season. Go back to the original post of the things we dont have in common. You will see that I said that we have a chance(legitimate). And being a sports fan in general I know the difficulties in going back to back in any sport at any level. I think you have painted yourself into a corner with your useless defenses. We arent arrogant enough to think that our best will always equate into a victory. While on the other hand most of you guys think PLANO is still the cream of the crop.

Head to head vs Katy & Permian undefeated, plus we have more titles, SLC & Judson well we have more Playoff wins all time and more all time wins and a higher all time winning percentage.

PWF is spot on here. I don't take any personal issue with what is said by the Allen folks as you have been in the drivers seat the past few years and you had a great championship run last season. But, even with that, I too have noticed the new "attitude" coming from the Eagles nest.

When I talk facts I don't think its being arrogrant. Is that any different when many Allen band wagon fans talking trash about 3 district & plano city championships? Etc. Etc. He who is not guilty cast the first stone.
If you say so...
If you had the good sense to keep your trash talk to say the last year or even two, maybe just maybe folks wouldn't be so tired of your schtick. So don't act all surprised and hurt when you reach into your bag of ancient history and try to rub it in our faces.
All in all I'd say that the Allen folks here on the official allen eagles thread have been rather accommodating and reserved to your diatribes on our thread. I dare say that you would not have been so fortunate if you had wandered into the official Judson thread and pulled the same stunts.
If you have to tell us how good you are, then you must either not be that good or just suffering feelings of inadecuacy.
I used to think that there was only one sure way to shut someone up and that was to whip them. Well, we have surely done that, but to no avail.
You all can continue to point at who supposedly started what, but in the end Maroondog is right, only time will tell.........:)
Cheers,

I think what Bigdaddy just wrote is very true.
I personally treat the bantering back and forth that we do
as fun and enjoy about 90% of it.
PWF comes on here to get a rise out of us.
(Otherwise, he would be saying these things
on a Plano thread somewhere.)
Plano has a great history that all of Texas
knows about. The last few years(15) has shown
that parity is increasing. Plano isn't the only
"top Dog" north of Highland Park. Things change.
SLC isn't stringing 'em together like they did a
couple of years ago. Things change. Allen had
a great season last year to put a "cherry" on top
of years of effort. Allen could go 5-5 in 2009
for all we know. Things change.
When PWF comes on here and reminds us of how
great Plano WAS, I appreciate his desire
to hang on to the positive things of Plano Football.
For all I know, Allen could fall flat on its face this next
season. I do NOT think that will happen, but I
have no control of that.
I HOPE that we Allen people don't sound as ARROGANT
as some others on this forum have seemed to US
in years past. We should learn from from those we
have not cared for in the past.
One "ring" does not a dynasty make.
That is why I am hoping for TWO.
PWF has a lot to be proud of in Plano Football.
I want the Cats to win EVERY game but one next year.
Last year's run taught me a lot.
I am grateful for that experience.

Let this be a place to disguss and NOT tear down players, coaches, OR eachother.
GO EAGLES !

Well said allendad! :notworthy Rivalries are rivalries not matter who is up or who is down, that's what makes highschool football so special to me. PWF has his case and we have ours, as long as we keep it on the board and the kids keep it on the field, it's all good fun! ;)

This weekend, while straightening up my desk at home, I ran across the State Championship Game DVD I'd ordered but never watched. Back when I first received it, I still had the memories of being at the game and watching it via DVR afterwards, so didn't feel the need to watch it again so soon. A couple of things stood out from this re-watch:
1. What a ripoff it is to order a DVD of the game! All those people did was burn a DVD of the recorded broadcast, including the dang commercials! I was expecting so much more, and got so much less than that $24.95 I spent.
2. Jeremy Reeves - Underrated in that game. He should have received Defensive Player of the Game. How many *big* plays was he involved in? I counted at least 5.
3. Hightower's Robinson - On the other hand, I might not have had a problem with this dude getting Offensive Player of the Game. Tucker Carter will always be "da man" for the way he played during the playoffs and his play that day was heroic, but that Robinson kid 'bout near did it all on Hightower's offense, didn't he? Incredibly gifted athlete. I wonder if we'll all be saying "I saw him play in high school..." one day.l
4. That head coach of Hightower made some questionable decisions and had some odd behavior that day. I wonder if he now thinks that, too. It would serve him well to learn from the mistakes he made. Having seen Coach Westerberg grow into the role of Head Coach over several years, I expect this guy will do the same (at least one would hope)
5. The best part of Allen's victory to me will always be that there were so many "role players" who played an integral part in ensuring a win for the team that day. I'm sure those guys will always feel a kinship towards one another. Good luck to all of them in their future endeavors!!
It was fun reliving that December day.

Hey 1157,
It's good to see you back . . . . it has been a while.
I agree about Westerberg.
It was very interesting to see the difference in demeanor
between Coach "W" and Coach Hallmark of HT.
"W" has matured through some real zinger seasons.
I love the make up of last year's team.
They started the season as a bunch of "nobodies".
I mean Matt was known, as was Bonsu . . . . but
nobody was giving Allen any love. I think they were picked
as 3rd in the district(pre-season).
They came together more EVERY week. They were
more confident each week and didn't go "freaky"
when they would get behind.
I hope this confidence carries over to this season.
This year will surely tell what last year has done
for the psyche of Allen players(future). Like SLC
players. They came into the program EXPECTING
to win. There was no question in their expectations.

Commericals are awesome. That DVD is a time capsule of Allen's first & probablly last title (sorry allen fans I got to dig a little :D). In 20 years when you watch you'll enjoy watching those commericals and the broadcast in general. My 86 title game had Brad sham and Drew Pearson covering the game. The graphics aren't nearly as nice but the commericals are classically funny!!! I didn't now clothes & cars were so crappy back in the BIG 80's.

What gets me about PWF is with one post he says he is just trying to get a rise out of us Allen fans. Sounds like somewhat of an apology for being obnoxious. I would like to say that he is correct in saying this one thing, that Plano could be considered as one of the best programs in Texas football history. Which also supports my thoughts that he has Allen envy. Just look at how he loves to bash us for NEWBIES. That just means our program is CURRENT and not in a downslide.

They are basing that on Me and my comments over the years on this site. I do not represent the Plano fan base or the program or have I ever said I am the mouth piece of Plano football. I am just one proud former player and fan who needs to inform young undeveloped, unknowing minds that Plano in the whole history of things is greatest program ever in Texas Highschool football. I probably have found at least a dozen balls whilst running the trails around the Twin Creeks Golf Course the last couple of years...and I don't even golf.
I even got beaned on the hip one evening when some guy hit a tee shot wide left. Didn't even say he was sorry either! Harumph!!
Topic: The Allen game will easily be "THE" game for every team Allen plays next season, given their reigning status as 5A DI Champs. Pretty daunting challenge to try and get up for every week's game. Methinks this will be a very tough season.

Maybe it was PWF hitting his tee shot when he saw you running in your PCC shirt... :D
People will surely be gunning for Allen this next season and I would not be surprised to see us with a few losses during the season. I would take that and a deep playoff run over undefeated then "one and done" in the playoffs.
The thing that could hamper us most is the injury bug. Not that you can control it much but, all of the teams will have to deal at some level or another.
I do like the maturity level that our team and our coaches seem to have attained. It has been hard earned lessons.

We WILL have a bull´s eye on our back.
That´s just part of the whole dealio.
This is a new role that Allen has to play.
It brings a new perspective to what other

Awesome!! Your right it is always about PLANO!! Just because Allen & Wylie has had couple of years of success you still can't be considered in Plano's Class!! It is very elite company. At least win multiple titles and I might consider you joining the club as a pledge. Of course that club is very exclusive and we just don't let anyone in.
You have Plano as the President/wise elder
SLC: VP
Katy: Secretary
Judson: Party coordinator
Periman: Pledge Recruitor
Yup.... You're proving my point! Like I said, it has nothign to do with Wylie. I could care less if Wylie is in your l33t club or not. I'd rather them not be associated with any school that has the sound of a gay wildcat comeing over the PA system.

maybe change the name from "elite club" to "fleet club", as the only people who remember the "glory" days of Plain-o-boring school are all old men now.......

Really? I don't think Meger, Burkhead or Lott or old men and 19 months ago they were 3 yards from going to the state title. If that's old whats middle age? 8
By the way your the one Allen fan that I put in the same category as gray owl and that is no compliment. ;)
This isn't about Wylie, Sir. This is about Plano
Your discussin might be about an old Plano history and it's glory days from the last century, ah ah zzz excuse me dozing off there, but last I looked the thread was ***official allen eagles thread***.;):D

I know Allen doesnt want to stoop to your level:D
You got that right...btw I saw the others complaining too about being pulled down, Katy, SLC, OP.;):D
When you take into effect Titles, PO wins, all-time wins, attendance records etc. when you take a look at the whole picture Plano is the best. All we need is a movie. :D
Yeah heres one more example from another thread:
My number one would be Plano. They put the noxious in obnoxious.

First of all, no queens from Allen will ever tie me up to anything. 2nd, I do not have a pilot license. However I do have a state ring that is more than you boys can say!!!;)

It probably is however my ring has one huge advantage over yours which makes it value so much more valuable than yours.
You share the 5A title with Katy. My ring says Undisputed 5A state champion. Wildcats of 86 share it with no one. :)
You sir are a co-champion. Do you have the Katy logo somewhere on yours with a big = sign?:p

I doubt yours says Undisputed 5A state champion? Based on what you're saying then the 1994 Plano State title is not legit? So Plano has only won six as well as it has been 22 year sincce Plano did anything? Boy what feeble minds will come up to beat their chest about.
Just checked UIL page and only difference since 1990 is either 5A Div. I or II both say state champions the same as always as there is no such thing as co-champion in state titles. So you have failed again.

touche, however i think everyone knows that 2008 Allen would have undoubtedly beaten 2008 Katy...... plain and simple
plus 5ATXFB had us ranked as 1 at the end of season, and everyone knows 5ATXFB is LAW! haha

UNDISPUTED!! No agrument if the other co-champion is better or not. Face it their are many folks that Feel Katy is the better team and would of beat you heads up. You will always have that argument when you have 2 co-champions.
You can't say you are the best because their are 2 crowned champions. We all know what Katy would of done had you guys met in a true finals game.
Speaking of the 94 team if was the least deserving of the 7 state titles. If it wasn't for the change to go to 3 teams in the playoffs 2 years earlier Plano wouldn't of even made the playoffs. The reason they did that was everyone was jealous pissed off because the big 3 of Plano, Judson, Odessa Permian were winning all the titles in the 80's & early 90's. So they wanted multiple champions (i mean co-champions) Go check that in your UIL history book!!;)
All I remember is the crap Plano took for going 7-3. THe saying was Plano was 1st in state, 2nd in Plano & 3rd in district.

That will never be proven. So you always have the discussion who was better. Katy can claim they are better than you guys. The way they shut down Wylie which you were unable to do at home makes for interesting discussion.
All I know is My team is UNDISPUTED, no agrument or discussion needed. LD BELL can whine, Longview can whine, LA Marque can whine. It doesnt' matter. UNDISPUTED.
Now you know I am just having fun with you Allen boys. When you join the club the pledge always needs to get hazed a little!! ;) You guys are getting way to sensitive about that co-championship. Your playing by the rules that UIL has unfortunately watereddown on our great sport.
We need 1 true undisputed champion. What's wrong of having a true title game during Christmas Break and hold it the weekend before New Years eve.

I understand and agree ya'll were undisputed
but also remember that when we played wylie, we started taking out starters early while we had a lead for some reason , and thats when they came back, and then we put starters back in , and had our way w/ the pirates
but couldn't agree w/ u more about having ONE champion
TWO Playoff teams from each district and State game would still be played before Christmas! EASY!

The song PWF has me thinking about is "Glory Days."
Now I think I'm going down to the well tonight
and I'm going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it - but I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
a little of the glory of, well time slips away
and leaves you with nothing mister but
boring stories of glory days

Eaglefan2000....Don't buy into all the crap you read on line...just think of a freight train comin at you full speed. The D will be quick with alot of leaders. Size is average but they swarm to the ball with bad intentions which is a Gambill trademark.

Not to take away from the D but the O line may be the best defensive players we have. This meaning with I think a much more of a time controlling ground game. I think it will be more like the formula we had in the REGULAR season of '06 when we would come out and pound the ball especially the first drive of the second half and take control of the game. It was uncanty how we won the toss and deferred to the second half in every game. It also seemed we would score last in the first half and first in the second half and swap scores until the game was over.

As a relative newcomer eagle fan (about 15 years) what I saw last year that I had never seen before was incredible speed in the defensive secondary. It just looked like nothing I had ever seen before from the Eagles.
Coach Gambill is great - but you can't coach speed like that. I am looking forward to seeing these guys in action.

What you refer to is what we all said before the two hardest guys to replace from last years team are Steven Terrell and Jeremy Reeves. :notworthy
Someone is going to have to step up there as saw some possiblities at the Spring Game.
Jeremiah's little brother is looking good at RB and as others have stated the defense seems to swarm to the ball which is good. The O-Line looks as good if not better so things seem to be falling in place.
