I would to... but you can't bench 500+ or squat 500+...

They prolly don't add up to 500+. ;)

Lard at 43%? Yes...

Lard at 17%...I don't think so.

I am a girl...and women have a higher % of body fat than men.

I lost it the old fashioned way...proper nutrition and exercise...including cardio and some serious weight lifting with a trainer. Not a single diet pill or surgery procedure.

For a girl...

I can bench press 65 pounds and I can squat 135 pounds. I can even do box squats. I lift weights both with my trainer and on my own. I leave the lifting that I need a spotter for to my trainer time and I do all of my arms, back, etc on my own.

I went from 214 pounds and 43% body fat in February 2008 to 139 pounds and 17% body fat just a few days ago.

I could not even walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for air and now I can run a 5K...it feels pretty great!

And all at the age of 40!

To start out with a BF that hight and get that low. I mean 17% for a woman is very fit.

How many times do you train a week with your trainer?

I train with my trainer 2 days a week for an hour each time. Additionally I lift on my own 3 more days a week (1/2 hour each time) and do cardio 5 days week...usually 30-45 minutes of running or that damn stair master.

I really do. I manage a retirement community and I see every day the bent backs and borken bodies. My strength training now and my heart health now will help me to live a much fuller life. I have less risk for osteo arthritis, breast cancer, broken hips and back problems as I age.

It feels awesome!

i assume they think someone like darren sproles at 5'5 200 is a tub of lard.

my BMI is 25.8 but my Body Fat Percent is 12%. how does that work out

DragonBand06

I'm about 23.
Anyway, in health they taught us that this is just a good estimate of your BMI... a more accurate test can be performed if you go into a lab and they use calipers, etc. to measure your body fat % and BMI accurately.

I've sometimes said BMI is garbage because it does nothing to account for people who work out or physically use their bodies at work. I've had discussions at work about how if I'm in the War Zone, I'd rather have a buddy with muscular endurance vs. somebody super skinny and can run real fast.

Anyway, me through the years:

Age 20 17.6
Age 27 22.2
Almost 38 25.3

I think it's garbage I'm supposedly overweight. I have a job that requires me to run, do pushups, situps, various other exercises, my daily tasks over the years have entailed picking up and moving boxes around, and I sometimes have to wear stuff like flak vests, body armor, and other heavy things. You're going to gain weight even if you don't eat much. I'm fat, but I ran 3 miles on Friday.

By the way, LeBron is 6'8" and estimated at 265 pounds and that gives him a BMI of 29.1.
