I had a feeling it was going to be Danny Gans. I was out in Vegas in 2000 and everything I read about the guy said he was a pretty good guy.

Wow and so young too. I had never seen his show but his theatre was right next to where we attended the Beatlefest at the Mirage. They had to shut his show down while Beatlefest was going on because when 7500 of us came through, you couldn't even get to his theatre and we were there all day and night. I wondered what kind of show he did though - he had a nice set up there and seemed to be up and coming.

I thought it was going to say Wayne Newton....

I didn't see his show, but the magazines talked about how he was the most popular in town and I've always heard he was a good family man and as sleazy as Vegas is, I've often heard about his Christianity.

On a sad note, Wikipedia says he died from drugs. I know that's not confirmed, but unfortunately I think it's true. For some reason, I usually have an inate ability to know why people get arrested and why they die and when I read his wife called and said he wasn't breathing and you add in talk of heart problems at his death, that's a huge clue to potential drug use.
