7 friggin' OT periods in 6 games - unreal is the word.
I was glued to the TV last night - which NEVER happens with me and the NBA. Loved it. The Noah run and dunk was a 10.
I hope the Bulls pull out game 7 - but I doubt they do. Boston is just too good in crunch time.

People aren't stupid. They know when you're jacking with games. If Stern would just leave games alone, he'd get his TV ratings back up.

What would make this series better is if both teams weren't so mediocre. Without KG the Celtics are not that good. The Mavs would beat the Bulls in 5, IMO.

Yeah, injuries have put a damper on things a bit. Also, it's a first round series so, no matter how good it may be, it cannot be an alltime classic, imo. If this was the conference finals, mos def.

THIS.
Best series I have ever watched... without a doubt. Regardless of rounds.
Whoever comes out of this one is going to be a wounded dog... and will likely lose to a struggling Magic team.

It's the most entertaining series I've seen, but it's not the most talented series. From a neutral fan standpoint, it's hard to beat the David and Goliath series with the Warriors and Mavs 2 years ago. It's not easy to beat the talent of the Mavs-Spurs series in 06, but I still think some of the Lakers-Celtics duels in the 80's had better talent. Those were great series.

It does make for a more pure experience, if that makes any sense. Ordinarily I would say that I prefer for all the stars are out there soe there can be no excuses but it doesn't really apply here, imo. It's the first round and there's too much ball to play before a trophy is awarded. Triple overtime .... wow

i know how good this series has been. But rondo should be suspended for grabbing kirk buy the arm and swinging him to the Scorers table.
If dwight gets suspened for what he did so should rondo the nba needs to keep consistent with these calls..

yes, epic is what I was thinking as well. I was hoping to see the Bulls pull this out after they lost the last one. No quit in either team, gotta wonder if they will have anything left after this series. I was wondering if they were going to keep going and have so many foul out they couldn't field 5 on the floor!
Anywya, don't really care who wins, but game 7 is pretty much a must watch if you watch pro bb.

And what about Stackhouse getting suspended for a game in the NBA Finals for a hard foul on the toughest dude in the NBA????:eek:
Heck, Stackhouse should have been given an award for courage not a suspension. Stern took advantage of that situation and stuck it to Cuban - IMO of course.

1. I was at Games 1 and 2 and saw Shaq elbow both Dirk and Stack in the mouth without a foul call on either play.
2. There was no suspension of Shaq.
3. Stack tried to go for the ball on Shaq, but he couldn't reach across Shaq's body.
4. Stack's only choice was to take Shaq down.
5. It was just part of the total package to take down Dallas. There was nothing fair about that series at all.

That series was awful.
It was one of the best David taking down Goliath stories ever and people actually thinking it would happen made it better. The GS crowd was crazy. It was a train wreck for Dallas. The whole thing was horrible for me, but I can look outside the box and see why it was great.

Watch the games. Watch the videos on the internet. You'll see how shady it was. Just read what others in the media say about that series. Nothing I say is based on emotion. I went back to watch the games later on and know that the bad calls in that series were almost always on purpose to affect the score.
Never in my life have I seen anything as shady as that 6 game series was. 2nd place goes the Kings-Lakers series in 2002. I'm just honest enough to call the games for what they were.
All this ties into what me and the secretary were talking about yesterday. She was talking about the Rider-Old High stuff going too far and how kids have a short memory and get over games, but nobody ever forgets getting cheated. She said her son still talks about the Rider-Old High JV game where Ponder played Varisty kids on JV to beat Old High and how he put JV guys on the Freshman teams to win those games.
You have to keep in mind that I've gone back and watched the games since I saw them live and my analysis is based on fact and not feeling, reality and not emotion. I'm also smart enough to know the difference between a mistake and a purposefully blown call to get a desired result.

So Ponder's choices, which would have been fiilmed, were not turned in to WFISD Athletic Office or the UIL by an arch rival that was the victim of such malpractice? dude seriously. I am no Ponder apologist, but holy hell...Was the kid a Senior that played in the JV game? If not, then there is no beef. I also dispute the JV kid playing on a freshman game , and if it did happen, Ponder wouldn't have even made that decision. If he did make that decision, what the hell is there to gain from it? Every kid would know they cheated to beat Old High. Nobody wants that.
Lonny, you're a great guy, but you're in freaking la-la land when it comes to sports. Totally out of your damned mind.

Lonny, you're a great guy, but you're in freaking la-la land when it comes to sports. Totally out of your damned mind. That thinking is not universally used and I'll give you a personal example. My last year in Alaska, we had a very good flag football team. I watched various other games during the year and saw one of the teams we beat got several ringers for the playoffs. I saw these guys play in the playoffs. This team ended up knocking us out of the playoffs and I sat on the info until we needed it. I told the coach they had cheated and he didn't want to do anything about it and the other guys kept playing. I will never turn down a forfeited win, but I've known people who refuse to take a forfeited win and I don't know why since the other team had to cheat to get the win.
As far as the Rider discussion goes, sure you can drop a non-senior, but it's still garbage to drop a kid just to beat the other team. Ponder runs a bad program. Him and his staff are as mean as the Devil. They threaten kids to kep them in the program and they recruit like crazy in the junior high's to get all the best players. Ponder is a win at all costs type guy. His staff is no different.
Ponder is the guy who blocked Bernard Scott from playing at Old High when he moved from Vernon before his senior year, but he's also the same guy who threatens his own players from blocking them from playing elsewhere if they leave his program.
Ponder gets favorable treatment from WFISD and the athletic director. I know of a case from a few years ago that was never investigated and wonder if the dropping kids from last year was turned in. I'll ask what Old High did to combat it, but they might've not said anything with thoughts that the AD wouldn't do anything about it.

With all due respect, you are full of crap, sir.
So a 4A head coach is going to risk his reputation and employment to win a freshman tilt? Are you f-ing kidding me?
If any rules were broken, Old High would have obliged Coach Ponder and Company with a complaint to WFISD &/or the UIL. Otherwise, you're just spreading crap and enflaming your own personal agenda against Ponder. There's no way the Coyotes would just be complicit with any hanky-panky going on. It is obviously something imaginary swirling around in the orb directly beneath your tin-foil beanie...:Censor::mad:

Got some sorry players in this series.
Rondo is a worse FT shooter than Chris Dudley.
Scalabrini just flat out cannot play.
Without Kobe Bryant, the state of USA Basketball is pretty bad.
Games have been won by whoever screws up less at the end of games.
Brad Miller is one of the best players in this series. What does that tell you?
It's been exciting just the same.
On the flipside, I knew Noah would be a decent NBA player. Big Baby is a pleasant surprise for the Celtics. Did not think he was going to be that good coming out of LSU

You do know that without Kobe, USA doesn't win a gold medal. I'm sure you remembered the gold medal game.
Rondo is horrible closing games out. Celtics are the champs and they just had a 14 pt halftime lead cut down to 4 at home. Bad team execution. That's what I'm talking about. But hey. All the guys you mention probably all look good dunking or making one on one moves.

so it automatically means the 23 yr old is "pretty bad" right? forget the double double he's been averaging in the series right? if you look at the stats from the 08 olympics, kobe's right in the thick of things with guys like lebron and d-wade....in fact, d-wade led all scorers in the championship game against spain....talk about not coming up big....

Do you not remember the Olympics. Kobe was not looking to dominate. Every man and his dog including the commentators were saying that. But he had to in the Gold Medal game. No way Lebron and the others do it. Not caught up with stats. I'm mainly talking about winning time and how well you execute. Rondo has been very poor in those situations.
