Continuing a look at teams that will move up to 5A...
Wylie turned in an enrollment of 2246.5 making them another lock to move up to 5A. I haven’t followed them very closely, but Wylie seems to have been pretty successful as of late. They were 10-4 this year losing in the 4th round to eventual state champions Hebron. Wylie is 30-11 over the past three seasons going at least three rounds deep in the playoffs each of those years.
It will be interesting to see what their district looks like. I would assume they would join Allen will should make for a nice little rivalry. I could see Allen and Wylie joining the Plano schools and maybe the Richardson schools, but that would make a 9 team district. It will be interesting to see how all of that works out.

I have seen some projections with Wylie joining district 12-5A. They have a good program with a lot of tradition.

Wylie would fit nicely in 11-5A, too, if the powers that be decide to add an eighth team...

I would like to see a Wylie vs. Allen matchup. They made that huge comeback win over Woodrow Wilson in the playoffs. Now we'll see how they fair in 5A.

rich, if you talk to hp folks, wylie won't have any problem in the less competitive 5a ranks. the only reason, they explain, that slc became successful was thru moving out of 4a.

In addition, some of the Ennis folks made the same leap of logic.

Wylie (city) adjoins Rowlett on the south and Sachse on the west, both in Garland isd. Seems like joining the gisd schools to make an 8 team district would be logical

SLC spanked them in the 4A quarterfinals at Texas Stadium.

they'll remind you of the 4 previous more important pre-playoff wins where they were successful. those po wins are over-rated anyway.

wylie is in an enviable position as far as district travel is concerned, with either the garland or the plano/allen rich districts. that undoubtedly means the uil will put them in with longview/rockwall and mesquite.
