I don't understand Jerry's Top Ten. Can someone explain how NorthShore is ranked above Westfield? And how Longview is ranked where it is? And how come Judson is below Westfield? I think Dave makes more sense than Jerry on this one.

The only thing one could know for sure about Jerry's top 10 is it's completely contrived from raw numbers and stats. If you look at the 5a's regular season leader in avg margin of victory I believe North Shore lead in that category, and that may of been counted in heavily, too heavily. Just goes to show that heart and skill trump stats and rankings on the field any day.

At worst SV ought to be tied with Judson in the final rankings in view of the heads-up match-up. As much as Judson improved after the Churchill debacle (they played much better the following week against Madison although they still lost), any rematch between SV and Judson probably would have been a defensive, low-scoring fight to the death of epic proportions (the 21-7 affair darned near went that way), but I've always suspected that SV would maybe come out on top again. Nevertheless, we will never know.

I dont know about the rankings either...I dont think North Shore should be at 4.... or above westfield for that matter...i can see westfield over judson... but i do believe North Shore is a top ten pick.... somewhere from 6-10 maybe. North Shore played westfield with thier full squad.... and went toe to toe the entire game faltering in the final 5 minutes.... if i were to rank them.. id say 8 or 9:eek:

Jerry has an artificial power number to start every year. After each game, the power rating is adjusted. Westfield had a very high rating to start the year and pretty much flatlined and lost a few points off of the original rating after Judson beat them. Judson fell off a lot and then came back, but never as high as they started. North Shore was up top all year and the SW loss wasn't going to drop them much.

What does it really matter at this point. Only two teams won their division championships. The rest of us fail our expections, only the winners get the glory.............:(
