Cron has had some serious success, in winning state titles in 1A, 2A, and 3A. He has a third round appearance in the 5A playoffs with Timberview 2 years ago and, was the school's first ever football coach. He stated that he wanted to spend more time with his family!
Cron was the head coach at Mart in 1999, where he fielded a state championship team that consisted of Quan Cosby, Quincy Cosby, and John Garrett.
Mansfield ISD director Debbie Weems said, that the new coach will most likely be announced on Tuesday.
