Okay, so I read an article on CNN about facebook addicts this morning. Some shrink somewhere said "AS MUCH AS 20 HOURS A WEEK...blah blah blah".
So my shaky math skills determined - that's less than 3 hours a day. Is this addiction?! Gasp... :ninja:
So let's have it - what do you all spend on average on the internet, all sites combined? Feel free to break it down if you feel the need.
3 hours a day sitting on facebook is a lot. I check it several times a day but it might accumulate 15 minutes total and most of that is if someone starts chatting with me. Think about it in a different way. If you spend 20 hours a week on facebook after a year you will have spent some 43 days of the year just staring at facebook.
Most of the time, I'm doing homework or surfing the web too.

All the friggin' time... 3 hours is chicken scratch... Facebook? No... The internet, hell yes...
i'm at a computer all day working, so if it's the time sitting at a computer that is the issue, then i can't talk. but three hours of facebook/myspace a day is alot.

A majority of college kids probably do spend 3 hours a day on facebook....in class.... But i'd say I'm more addicted to this site than facebook :D:cool::notworthy

Well, not facebook specifically - in my case. I spend a lot of time on three message boards and check facebook like I do my email. I don't sit on Facebook doing all of those stupid pokes, hearts, crap.
But during season - 3 hours a day is a slow day for me - on the message boards. :o

We can tell by your post count.

How much does that cost? And is it worth it?

hey hey now...this is not a bash on LVC's post count thread. I just don't post a lot because I'd put my foot in my mouth too much. And, I am a college student in Mississippi, so I don't get to watch as many games as most of the ALLSTAR posters like yourself do.

I hardly if ever go to games since I graduated.
Don't worry about our opinions, say what's on your mind, so what you get banned for a week or something.

I'm starting to think, not having been banned at least once is a bad thing. :p

haha oh trust me, corycone almost got me banned. Sometimes I just don't have anything to say...but as you can see, I've been a member since 2005...that is dedication.

It costs $109 a year for the premium service which gives you the option to watch games in HD, watch multiple games at the same time, and DVR functionality. It is $80 a year without the above listed features. Covers games for the entire season. The only downside is the local and national blackouts which doesn't effect me as a Yankees fan (except for Saturday games) but might effect someone who is a Rangers fan.
I think it is definitely worth it especially if you have a friend (or two) who would be interested in sharing it. Two of my friends and I are splitting the premium service and only paying about $30 to watch the entire baseball season online anywhere.

Mine is deceiving. Just speak up, you seem pretty fun, I promise we won't bite.

You watch it online. You just log into the mlb.tv website. I suppose you could watch it on your PS3 on your TV with the web browser but I haven't tried. Perhaps tonight I will!

I spend at least 3 hours a day on this site alone...
I'm usually awake from 1030-300, so 16.5 hours a day, and I'm probably on the internet at least 10 of those every day.
But that's because I use it for everything. I post on 3 message boards, I do most of my organization with friends on facebook, and I get all of my news from the internet.
These are things that I would do whether I had the internet or not, just in a different fashion.
I do watch about an hour or two of video on the internet everyday, usually through surfthechannel.com as I'm working my way through all the classic series.
I'm not sure if you could call it an addiction anymore than you could call living an addiction. I use the internet to facilitate everyday life, to do things I couldn't otherwise and to do things that I could, faster.
My iPhone doesn't help this "addiction", either. Now I'm on the internet whenever I'm going somewhere, too....

Facebook is a very passive process for me...
