Good Ol' Jack "The Galveston Giant" Jackson....first Black Heavyweight Champion.

To show you how times where not too long ago:

Fought in Las Vegas against a guy out to prove that the white man is better than negros. The crowd constantly yelled "Kill the ni@@ER" as the band played "All coons look alike to me". Later he was convicted under the Mann act which was transporting a white woman(his wife) across state lines.

Racism killed him....literally. He was living in North Carolina I think and a resturant refused to serve him...he was pissed, sped away and got into a car accident.

looking at his time and era it was the only time he could legally clobber a white guy, i'm sure he took advantage of it.

yep cuz he definately wasnt gonna beat "them" in the courts do it in the ring...and i cant believe how stupid "people" were back then well actually i can believe it...taking her across state line for "immoral" reasons....give me a break!! uggggggh:rolleyes:

But in the words of Fleeman he was ILLEGAL, how can you do something ILLEGAL and be good because ILLEGAL is evil and he deserved it for being ILLEGAL.
