The Highland Park as Ferarri thread got me thinking, that the top teams in Texas are incredibly economically diverse. Southlake Carroll, Allen, Wylie, Plano, Westlake are all very wealthy areas with outstanding teams. Then there are teams such as Katy, Permian, Hightower, Temple, Lufkin are somewhat depressed areas. All the communities have amazing fan support, so perhaps that is the key to a sucessful program. Thoughts???

Wylie's always been more like Garland than Plano to me, upper-middle maybe. Allen - maybe a little more like Plano. Southlake and Westlake areas - pretty exclusive.

Lufkin is hangin' in there enrollment-wise, not sure about Permian.

Katy..... hmmm, pretty slummy from what I hear - :D

perhaps it was incorrect to call katy "depressed", all i meant to say was that it is not an overly rich area, especially around mayde creek and morton ranch. Obviously, Katy has had much success in football.

Which has always made me wonder why the small town of Katy wanted such a large school district. Seems like they would have been better off giving Houston a bunch of it years back.
