Morris Arnold... who is this kid? where did he come from? out of no-where the last couple of games in the playoffs he has been incredible. he almost single handily stoped the cy falls season to continue with 3 tackles in a row on there last drive then blocking the punt. then against SLC he had an amazing 17 tackles, FF, and FR. I live in katy and have never heard of him. i did some research and found out he used to play safety then got moved to OLB. hes only 5'11" 175 but hits like he weighs 200 ask greg McElroy. This kid should get a scholarship somewhere. him and will thompson looked like they are the ones to realize it might be their last FB game ever! anyways if you saw the game or know anything about this Morris character let me know

He was very impressive on tv. That first qtr. stop on Tre in the flat pass was awesome. Most big gainers were far from him.

Arnold has been there all season making plays. He went to another level in the playoffs though. Awesome effort by Arnold in the post-season.

No argument with any of the previous posts on this thread... But traditionally the MVP is awarded to a player form the winning team except in the rarest of instances...

Arnold started from game 1. He got moved last year after an incident which can remain quiet and ended up at OLB. Very quick, very strong, never scared of anybody. He was making int's, tackles, forcing fumbles, recovering fumbles, putting hard hits on people, and making everyone regret running into him. He was great at blitzing, and just as good at coverage. Zwernamen on the other side was a pass rusher most of the time and did good at it while Morris would fall back into coverage. He plays more like a SS than an OLB because he even covers the deep ball on certain defensive schemes. Great player and great kid. I could be wrong but.. his brother, Joel Arnold played a few years ago on the 2003 team and is just like Morris is.

I completely disagree with giving the MVP to the winning team most of the time. Win or lose, a standout player deserves the recognition. Thompson and Arnold are my two that deserve to have the best chance of MVP from Katy. But if I had to say one person to get the MVP for the game, Thompson.

I disagree with the choice of Thompson as MVP. People forget that he was covering Corbin Smiter on atleast one of his touchdown catches.

Morris Arnold was very impressive ...He turned it up in the playoff's. Without his great plays I don't think Katy would have gotten past Cy-Falls and he was great against SLC...He would certainly get my vote as the MVP of the Katy team.

Did you see what smiter did in the second half(Nothing). Thompson deserved MVP he looked just as good as advertised and made me wonder is he Leonard Hewitts brother from another mother.

Smiter did not have to do anything in the second half because most of those yards were gained on the ground or on passes to the inside receivers which is what Katy was giving Carroll

i wonder if this was the intention of the dragon oc to throw to the receiver (mckay/smiter) who will wasn't covering. will was on mckay early, and smiter went crazy, then when he took smiter, mckay blew up. they knew where the strength of the kt secondary played.

Carroll did a good job of testing two of the sophomores Katy had playing significant time this year. Most of the stuff thrown at either Will Thompson or Darren Konesheck (#80) was gobbled up.
I watched the game back at the Katy film night yesterday and the Tiger defense didn't look near as bad as it seemed watching it live. When you break it down, it came down to 3-4 big plays for Carroll and that's more than they need when the other team is trying to play from behind the entire time.

the long TD to Smiter was on David Sadowski, who got absolutely torched. Will was on Jacobsen

Don't forget his 2 pass deflections and one amazing one against a more than great receiver.

Katy played a "heck of a game" and the final score wasnt reflective of the level of play by Katy.
Biggest difference in the game was Katy had a couple of critical "turnovers" that really killed them with the ole "MO."
In the end... SLC was better but not alot better. Probably 7 out of 10 games SLC wins by about 10pts on average.
BTW... Thompson is a complete and utter little "stud athlete". That kid is a ball of fire and energy and I really hope he has a bright future in college and on the college football field.
Also Katy boys.. I know Katy had a DL that was suppose to be a blue-chip level athlete DT-Steadman (??). I dont recall seeing or hearing his name in the game but maybe I just overlooked him. Was he playing ??

I would vote Thompson for Katy and McElroy for SLC. It was Thompson's play that revived the Katy spirit, and helped them all believe. The TD reception and the punt return. His speed looked very impressive on TV.
And McElroy.....what can you say, deadly accurate, and receivers that know how to find the open field. I was very impressed with Dalton's arm strength as well.

Moe has always been a great football player but no one ever seemed to notice until he was becoming unstoppable. He is just like his brother who played on the 2003 team, except better...I guess you can say him and Will are alot a like.
