33blood's 700 Club thread on the 5A board made me remember I had made this last Fall. A big thanks to WOS for the info used to make this.

Nice. They have certainly won their share of games over the years. But Corsicana seems to be the team that has had the better of them.

Yep. Corsicana and Wichita Falls are the two teams that have given HP big problems, and usually in the playoffs back in the day.

They're certainly good. Makes you wonder why they don't move up to 5A and compete...
Take into account also that some of these stats could be deceiving - for example, Carroll definitely has put together better teams since joining 5A than they put up in 4A.

Nothing is deceiving at all. It's just a list. Raw stats.
And no, it doesn't make me think why don't they move up and "compete." They were in 4A for years when it was the largest class, and were in 5A for quite a few years as well. While other schools grow and the cutoff for 5A grows, the city of Highland Park remains pretty much the same size, unable to expand because they're surrounded by Dallas. They compete in whatever class the UIL puts them in.

Am hoping the Lobos get a chance to take on the Scots this season. Would be a great game, but lots of time between now and then.
Good luck to the Scots on the upcoming season!
(And thanks for making this section of the boards guys!)

People don't seem to realize that. It's always a conspiracy lol

That makes sense. Wait, Dallas Carter dropped to 4A, so they're unable to grow because they are surrounded by ?
HP just needs to procreate more or quit cooking the books.

Carter is 1 of 20+ High Schools in the Dallas ISD and that doesn't include the magnets. So it's not quite the same as Highland Park's 1 school district on an island. It is amazing they held Dallas at bay all these years while they annexed about 15 other former districts. So don't under estimate the political pull they have.

City schools are dropping more because of the population heading toward the suburbs. Those suburbs are able to keep expanding in physical size. HP is not able to do that. There's no room for more houses, and there aren't a whole lot of apartments either.

I just updated the history through 2008 and added in all missing scores.
I was missing games against Grapevine and McKinney in 1924.
I had previously had a game against Lewisville that season but it actually was cancelled.
I was missing a game against Kemp in 1926.
So to update your stats in the original post you need to add in wins against Grapevine, McKinney and Kemp and take away one win against Lewisville

So how does that not change the total wins? 710+2-1 = 711, right? What am I missing?

Nevermind, I figured it out.
1924 - You replaced Lewisville with Grapevine and Garland with McKinney.
1926 - You replaced ??? with Kemp.

Where is the deception? If my team plays your team 10 times and I win 7 and you win 3 it means I won 70% of the games. That would be the only thing that mattered. You cant compensate with well, when my team won we beat you by a better margin or we had more total yards. So Im not understanding why I would need to retake statistics if I think that stats cant be deceptive.

Stats can be deceptive if I was offering up just a portion of them. Sorta like how aggy likes to talk about the Texas/Texas A&M series since 1980.

Oh, so celebrating wins that happened before the forward pass, before the facemask, before you were alive to enjoy them, etc. is what you've been reduced to? Nice to know. :notworthy

Hey, at least you have your 1800s wins. LMAO:notworthy
Oh, and LOL @ trying to say, "You're not our rival." Actions have always spoken louder than words. You mentioned A&M in this thread. Pathetic obsession noted.

Yeah, we have our 1800s wins. And our 1900s wins. And our 2000s wins. And our dominance over our little sister school to the east. I'll take that. You can have whatever moral victory you're reaching for right now.
I mentioned aggy b/c the guy claiming the stats were deceptive is one.
