I dried three white and two white w/blue pinstripes dress shirts with an ink pen in one of the pockets.
:Censor:
All I have left are three solid blue, one pink pinstriped, and one light pink left.
Yet again, :Censor:.
I've done that once or twice and it is awful. Another awful thing to leave in your pockets when you throw your clothes in the dryer is GUM. Talk about an awful awful mess to clean up.

My kiddo dried a gel pen (I believe) with a load of his clothes once. He was fine with the ink marks on his clothes - he said they were work out and work clothes anyway. Of course, now the inside of my dryer looked like a Tye Dye machine with the ink slung all over the sides!! :Censor:

Never done gum. Can you ever get it out?
The shirts are done. You can't get ink out of cotton dress shirts after running them through the dryer. Use 'em for rags or work shirts now.

You can physically pick it off your clothes but usually it leaves a permanent stain wherever it melted and stuck. Getting them out of the dryer is a humongous pain in the *** and involves a flash light and periodically turning the dryer on to soften them up.
I've grown accustomed to checking all of my pockets and shaking out my shirts before I throw them in the wash now. A couple of ruined loads of laundry and an almost ruined dryer freshman year will teach you that.

Back in the HS days in the early 80s, our baseball team all chewed chewing tobacco. I left a pouch of Red Man in my pants pocket which did a number on the clothing in the washer. The tiny leaves stuck to the basin walls and small drain holes and kept showing up in the wash for a week.
One of several nasty habits that ended quickly with the college bride... :)

I tried to tell Mrs. Bird that was her job...she was having none of it.:(;)

hahaha
I bet that didn't go over too well. I can only get the girlfriend to wash my clothes if I am sick and she happens to be visiting me during the weekend. Even at that point it is a "ok but you owe me" not a "sure thing since you aren't feeling well." Ah the love....:D
A stunt that works pretty well though (so far) is asking her to throw in a couple of my clothes with hers. If you are smart about it and do it often enough you can get by for a while. ;)
i nice brand new pair of polo shorts i was gonna wear the next day so i through them in a load then tossed 'em in the washer...problem is that someone left a pen in the dryer and it popped all on em...never got to wear em in public once....:(

Spray the stains with hair spray on both sides of the shirt. Rewash. If that does not get it out nothing will.
