So a friend and I sort of got in trouble today at school by some of our coaches from last season
I KNOW I've said some things I wished I hadn't a few days later (e.g: information the other day about the new Allen receiver)....... and in a couple instances, went back and deleted posts
I know many times I have gotten into arguments with other posters and even in a FEW instances, made undeserving allegations....
I haven't quite mastered the "ethics and strategies" of message boards like BigDaddyDog, AllenDad, or AllenFanding05
As of now, I will not be posting nearly as much as I do, and when I do post something..... it will be much more constructive and less opinionated
It will be very tough to fight the temptation to respond to criticism or bashing of Allen
however, that's all that is, just words....... and when it comes down to it, this new ring you might see around the city of Allen speaks for itself..... and doesn't need my help.
its just I decided to play football because of ALLEN EAGLE football.... and no other reason, this past year was completely amazing even though I didn't even do that much, more than I thought it would have been (obviously), and I take it personally when someone dogs Allen, and now, after years of dreaming about it, its all over.......
Maybe in a few years, after college, when I return to Allen, I'll come back.
It's been fun!
( I suggest other players (recent, current, or future) consider the same, or at least think more before they post (like i didn't) ) )

Don't sweat it brother ... but I would suggest you do as your coaches have instructed ... after all, they have your best interest in mind and possess a vantage point from a much higher altitude than you are capable of at this time in your life. I'm not trying to be condescending, just trying to tell you that we all made mistakes when we were your age and sometimes wish we had listened to our coaches, dads, mentors before we did things we regretted later on.
it'a all good, man. Enjoy your time as a high school football champion regardless of how little you think you contributed. You got the ring because you were on the team and you are a teammate the same as the starting QB and the trainers. It takes all of you to win it all.

Hey Eagle4,
You're a good man, PERIOD!
Every member of that team contributed just like
EVERY other championship team. Without just ONE
member . . . . you never know. Enjoy the ring and
the love that you'll share with those guys.
About posting:
Personally, I feel that this forum is NOT a place for players.
You, as a player, should be focused on your performance and
NOT what a bunch of old farts have to say about teams and players.
You know, 99.99999% of us would have to take O2 after running
even 40 yards!
You just concentrate on doing what makes you a better player
and person. What we say about things on here will just distract
you(or other players on here) from what you should be doing.
Please realize that we ALL are homers for our own teams.
The ego drives all the schmuck that is said on here. We have fun with it, but
it would be best for you to just concentrate on your skills and not worry
what others say about you or The Eagles.
Work hard my little brutha prove through your ACTIONS what people should think about YOU or your program.
85 said it right. We all get excited on here. Just learn by your mistakes and
don't repeat them. You will go far by recognizing your mistakes now and changing behavior that you don't like.
Have a GREAT spring practice!
WE ARE WATCHING EVERYTHING YOU DO ! ! ! ! :eek::eek::eek:
;)

As told to me by a former CIA station chief:
Type it as a Word doc.
Save it.
Go back in 24 hours or more.
Delete or post as appropriate.
DO NOT post until at least 24 hours.

From my experience over the years of running this gig, very few Varsity players actually post while still on the team. We have a ton of players and coaches that just lurk (rightfully so). I'm amazed just about every day by the people that we learn are on here. If you're on here and participating in the discussion on behalf of your school...chances are very good that your coach(es) will see what's posted.
Of course we love participation, but it's really not a place that's well suited for current players and coaches to get caught up in the banter with the rest of us "has-beens". :)
(Nor is it a place for the current posters to throw hard working coaches and players under the bus, posting private injury information, etc.)
It's not uncommon for large chunks of what is said on here during game weeks to end up displayed nicely on a player's locker or all over a team's field house for motivation.
Concentrate on your football and grades for now and we'll see ya down the road once you've taken care of that.

You are right about players and/or coaches can be emotionally too attached to participate in forums such as these. We fans enjoy debating such issues as who is better and why we think so. It can at times get heated and you might post something that you may regret later. I dont always temper what I post and to see that you realize that you may have caused some type of detriment shows that you dont want to have any regrets about this. Plus anyone who bashes Allen on here, me and the heavies will hunt them down and string em up by the left big toe and force feed them a hundred boxes of Exlax. Take care and next time you give Jake a ride I gotta see the ring.:)

this new ring ... speaks for itself..... and doesn't need my help.
That's the truth in a nutshell. We have all had moments when we just jump right in before realizing someone is just trying to get us to rise to the bait, so don't loose any sleep over a message board. And heed your coaches advice - about what and how to post team info. ;)

I wouldn't sweat it much if I were you. All the smack talk on here is just that, nothing else. Its all decided on the field anyway.
I personally enjoy all the banter even though there are some on here who seem to take things to a much more serious level. In any event, have fun. :D

According to myself, I'm only about 4 inches short of being in the NFL as a WR...so I definitely fit in this category as well. Talk about denial. :)

Haven't had any coaches call me by name, but did have to giggle when I heard other Hebron people making guesses about the identity of a new poster. They finally found out who it was only because I admitted it was my husband.
