Most Exciting Playoff Games

Now that all 94 5A playoff games for 2005 are in the book, in your opinion which three games were the most exciting. Two ground rules: 1) you must state your home team and 2) include no more than one game that involved them.

I can't believe that I'm agreeing with a complete post of yours Drake. I did'nt see #1, but heard how thrilling it was.

Since I can only pick one Katy game, I'll take three of Cy Falls games. The other being with LaPorte. The Bulldogs almost won on a spectacular play as time ran out.

2)Lufkin vs SLC- cause I got there 4 hrs early and fell asleep on the grass and woke up with thousands of people around me.

GHS vs. JT came right down to the wire, with the Owls coming alive in the 4the quarter and scoring two touchdowns to nip Cujo.

Celina/ Paul Pewitt and Plano/ SLC were both tense, tough games with multiple lead changes - two the best games I saw all year...

Definitely Plano/SLC. Plano led after each of the 1st 3 quarters; we really thought we had a chance.

If the last play (74 yd trick play with :06 seconds left - they needed 76yds) had gone for TD, then it would have been #1.

The almost comeback to win in the last minute of the game was incredible!

My first Pick:
SLC - Plano

I was at the Trinity game, and people were on their cell phones giving updates. The updates spread through the stands like wildfire. I watched a rebroadcast of the game, and found it exciting even though I knew the outcome.

My second pick:

Converse - Westfield

I counted out Converse on this one. I got some scouting info. for one of the Trinity's coaches, and my son gave it to him. I instructed my son to tell him not to bother with the Converse info., because Westfield was going to cream them. This was by far my worst prediction. I never got to see a film of this game, but I bet it was exciting. On paper, Westfield way outmatched Converse.

Hey Farmer it did not take those Lewisville boys long to win a state championship in Lewisville Hebron? 6 years and they already have a title. :eek: I was feeling bad about Lufkin losing so many times in the state semis to the same team until i heard about CC Callahan?? Not sure how to spell? They lost in the state semis to the same team (LaMarque) 7 freaking times!! :eek: :eek: They finally make it to the finals and they get smoked by a team that has only been in existence 6 years. That has to suck.

Plano / SLC was a great game. The game was still in question until that last SLC interception deep in Plano territory with 5 minutes left and the following SLC TD that made it a 2 score game.:) FUN FUN GAME!

It sure didn't. They are only going to get better to. They have been saying over in Hawk country that their best team will be when these freshman are seniors. The junior high that feeds Hebron has won the Lewisville city championship the last 3 years and both their freshman teams went undefeated this year. They are going to be scary.

As far as CC Calallen goes, yeah they played La Marque to some classic games only to lose them. I know 3 of La Marques titles came at the expense of Denison and that 3 of the 4 Stephenville won came at the expense of La Marque, but your right CC Callallen has it worse than any other team losing to La Marque as many times as they did.

Lufkin CCove was the most exciting/intense/emotional playoff game I can recall since state final of 2001.
