Nobody wants to see some fat, old guys sipping champagne because the Colts got beat today. No class whatsoever to "hope" your record is never broken. Imagine if Hank Aaron broke out the bubbly if/when Barry doesn't break his record. Get a life old geezers - nobody cares about 1972 when you played 10 easy games in a 14 game schedule. I can come up with a dozen teams that would hammer the Fish.

it's annoying to see them do that every year when the last undefeated goes down. shouldn't this be in the nfl section?

I agree...It's just dumb.

Did they show them on the sidelines today or something?...I missed that game.

I heard the announcers starting it in the end "hey Dolphins, break out the bubbly". You'll see them on SPorts Center tonight - Mercury Morris, Csonka, etc. - a bunch of old geezers - no class IMO - but, whatever.

Mercury Morris...when did he get out?:D

i guess throwing a party at the colts loss is somewhat less classy than cheering a victory by the bolts. it's just nauseating to the the smarmy old used to be acting like they have inalienable rights to be the only team with undefeation.

Laughing out loud....undefeation....hahahaha
That word in and of itself belongs on the classics thread.

I used to hate it when Nick Bonaconte(sp) was on Inside the NFL on HBO because he would rub it in about his Fish being the only ones with undefeation. .

How would you feel if:

Jack Nicklaus celebrated every time Tiger got beat in a major
The Huskers (or whomever) celebrated when USC lost to keep to their consecutive record streak intact.
Hank Aaron celebrated every time Bonds struck out.
Dickerson celebrated when Lewis/Tomlinson, etc. didn't break his rushing record.
etc. etc.

They've been doing this nonsense 20 years or longer. It's just classless - records are made to be broken. These guys are truly happy/ecstatic when this happens just to hang on to some belief they are the greatest team ever.

the definition of classlessness is exemplified by these old geezers.

I would have loved the Colts to have pulled it off more than any other team I could think of. Manning and Coach D. both demonstrate a great deal of humility on and off the field. The Colts are a class organiztion. Their tough loses are taken very gracefully. As for the 72 Dolphins, let the old farts have their day. I'm sure if you asked Manny or anyone else on the Colts, they would probably say they were more disappointed in the loss than a few old farts celebrating that their record was still in tact. I'm sure if the Colts did pulled it off, the same old farts would have nothing but congratulations for the Colt team.

you may be right, but then what excuse would they use that'd get them highlighted on sportscenter drinking bubbly. it wouldn't surprise me either way.

think of how funny it would be if the texans went 19-0 (16-0 plus 3 playoff games)...that would be cool to go from 2-14??? to 19-0 in one or 2 years...and the dolphins would feel like crap to think their record was broke by the TEXANS!!!...it wont happen but it would be funny

I never have liked the Dolphins players and I hope somebody breaks the record. It needs to be the Cowboys.
