Thank you for pointing out what everyone else already knows. Yes, people want to beat Carroll simply because it is rarely done, but the way you put it would seem like Carroll doesn't view these other teams as rivals. You don't think Carroll comes into games against some of the stronger teams in the state knowing that on a given day one of those teams could beat them?

Your team is not invincible. Most of Dragon Nation still realizes that, despite your uncanny inability to lose. You, obviously, are under the impression that your team will never lose again. People like you make the rest of your community look bad.

I don't know about everyones rival..but we love the level the game goes to with Lufkin, Katy, Denton Ryan, SV, Abilene and this year Plano..And I'm just a fan..I'd love to play but coach Dodge never puts me in...:p

And to keep it topic-related, I think it's just natural to wanna take down the one that nobody can take down. If Denton Ryan or Abilene were as dominant as we are, everyone would want to bring them down. Nothing personal, just football.

I don't think of SLC as our rival and I know alot of other students at Katy don't. I personally love SLC. As does pretty much everyone in the band. SLC is amazing and they are the best team we have ever played. It was an honor to play them. One kid in our band said that if Katy and SLC were to join forces they would conquer the world...and not just in football. Plus our colors fit well together!

I can tell you that a lot of us in Southlake really like the whole Katy experience..you have great fans, a very disciplined team and it is a pleasure to play you guys!

I know that SLC goes through some of the same things with other teams and their fans with the whole respect factor and I guess that is what helps us get along so well. We both know how it feels to be disrespected and it flat out sucks. Not to forget that Katy and SLC both have an amazing coaching staff that helps teach the team what respect is all about.

Like I always say.."The dog with the bone is always in peril"....;) Katy & Carroll have had the bone a lot in the 2000's..Lufkin, SV, Abilene and a lot of others want that bone!

It is not that I consider SLC to be Lp rival but the fact that I enjoy watching two top notch programs play(even if its only in the playoff). A rival for us would be Longview or Nacogdoches( oldest rivalry in Texas).

.........and yes SLC has a big target on their chest.......everybody is aiming for it. That is why I was rooting for SLC to go into D2 Brackett this year, I wanted Lufkin to get another shot at the best team in the land.

I think some SLC fans (not all, most are great) need to shut the hell up because your team is doing all the talking necessary with their performance on the field.

A rival is a school that would draw a huge crowd, regardless of whether the teams were doing well or not. SL Carroll and Katy, or Lufkin, Plano etc etc would draw huge crowds because they are great teams, but I doubt it would be the same if, say SL Carroll was 5-4 and Plano was 3-6 going into the final game of the season.

No, let's make that the history of all football ever played. No, let's make that the history of all sports. Katy has now lost all bragging rights - a 14 point win today is much much better than a 1 point win 2 year's ago.

I'm not trying to make excuses, but you must understand that for the entire season except Cy Falls and SV we did not play a hard team. SLC however did play harder teams then us and therefore "grew" and was prepared for anything coming their way...unlike us. It's not that our heart wasn't in it we just were not prepared for what we were about to face.

A win is a win. Katy won it in 03, SLC won it this year. Unless you lost count, the score between Katy and SLC is now 1-1. Hopefully we can have a tiebreaker in 2006.

kt has the only win over slc, but not recently. if i had my druthers, and had to lose one or the other, id rather have won the first and had a loss breaking a 63 game winning streak, but having won the most recent trumps a loss over 2 years ago.

that worked out so well for tlee, don't you think. they can certainly make the circus caravan down here. i don't see it happening unless tv money pays for them to travel. dodge doesn't need anything out of non-district except preparation for the district games and eventually the po's.
