From a Neutral Corner.

Just a few observations from a neutral fan who attended the game today.

1. The Southlake receivers and backs get a lot of press but it was the offensive line that dominated this game from the outset.

2. Tre Newton is a monster in the making. He is only going to get faster and stronger

3. The South Lake secondary is the best I've seen this year.

4. KATY FANS ARE LOUD. I was sitting on the SLC side but the roar from the Katy side was deafening.

5. The SLC fans were all happy to see me and my son sitting with them wearing our Panther Purple. Thanks to all who came by with the positive words and thanks to the kind SLC Mom who let my son wear her gloves and scarf and the SLC Dad who gave my son a stocking cap to stay warm. Great fans showing great class.:)

6. A great game between two great teams. It was a pleasure to sit and watch the two most successful programs of this decade and their fans.

7. I'm scared to death where the UIL will move Lufkin this coming year. With the new 4 team per district play-off format and the UIL re-districting in February, Lufkin may not get another shot at SLC next year. That would be a shame. I've come to enjoy this rivalry a great deal. The only thing that would make it better is if the re-alingment allows us to meet them in the state finals instead of the semis.

8. With Lufkin returning nearly all of it's offensive starters. I really feel 2006 will be the year of the Panther. Its our time.;)

I do not know if i should congradulate the SLC parents for giving your son glove, scarf, and hat to stay warm or scold you for bringing him there with no gloves and no hat and no scarf. ;)

thanks Panther. You guys scare me next year. I would even say you are the team to beat. If Dodge can reload after losing 19 starters it will be amazing. I'm not so sure about this redistricting.

Glad you had a good experience today with SLC fans. Most of us are good people.

Thanks for turning my positive post into something stupid. Hope your proud. My son was wearing two shirts, a hooded coat and a hat. He was doing fine. The SLC fans were just kind enough to add to what he had. I don't need any help parenting. Keep those types of comments to yourself.:mad:

My sphincter is fine..thanks for your concern. However, all parents get defensive about any comment about their kid. I'm dropping it now. No hard feelings.

I am about flipped one night when my best friend discovered that I didn't know my son's social sec # from memory... He goes 'So you can tell me the leading rusher in the NCAA for the past 3 years, but don't know your son's social?'.. I flipped...

All we need are two good Guards for the O Line - then the offense is set.

He had a pretty good point. I know all my kids SSN#'s ...and I make them memorize them as well. It's pretty impressive...I took my two oldest daughters to have their military ID's renewed a few years ago...The woman making them asked me for my oldest daughter's SSN...I just looked at my daughter ...and she rattled it off like it was nothing...blew the woman away...
She was 8 at the time.
