LOL. This thing is supposed to be getting put together and played on Aug. 27-29 at Bobby Morrow Stadium in San Benito. But so far it looks like its a mess. Numerous valley teams have been invited, and apparently schools such as Skyline, Dallas Carter, Allen, Longview, Odessa Permian, and Abilene have been invited as well. I've also heard Houston Clearbrook, Houston Lamar, Klein Forest, and a few S.A. schools have been invited as well. Anybody heard about this or heard of their teams being invited or going to attend?

Permian is in San Antonio Aug. 29th vs Duncanville.

not gonna happen. there's no reward for a team like skyline and longview to travel all the way down here and possibly (i said possibly, haters) lose a game to an unranked valley squad, to them. unless there was some sort of acknowledgment from two team from out of the valley, i don't see any texas football power taking this seriously.

it would be a good experience for valley teams to play upstate teams from Houston,ect. I know the 1990 Mission team and 1999 Edinburg teams played teams from Houston(Aldine and Aldine Eisenhower) in the playoffs and were no match for them since they never faced teams with that type of talent and speed.

As an above poster mentioned, don't think those upstate teams are all for making the long trip down to the valley. They're more likely to opt for say San Antonio.

San Benito vs. Plano ive never seen plano play(no) so i can't say too much except that i'd take the DFW power over any valley team.

these would all be blowouts by the 2nd/3rd. the only i COULD see being close would be permian vs. LF BECAUSE permian isn't overly sized of lightning fast.

Carter and Klein Forest don't have people show up for local games so they definitely won't have any one for a game that far away on a Saturday. I believe you will be able to count the number of fans in the stands unless locals from the Valley decide to attend.

valley folks will drive 6 hours to see another valley team play. the question is if we care enough to watch a team OUTSIDE the valley play another team outside the valley. this year is not going to be a that high of an attendence (imo), but next year after redistricting and other valley schools show up, there should be serious attendence at bobby morrow stadium.

I agree with you 100%. That was indeed South's best team... Ted Macias was the TE and boy was he good...

South had 3 td's called back that game vs Roosevelt... bunch of crap... the refs suked... :(

About 5 hours from Houston and 9 from Dallas. The drive won't matter because Klein Forest couldn't even fill the stands for a 2nd round playoff game against Cy-Woods last year. CW fans filled about 1/4 of their side for them. Really bad fan support for them.
