McElroy is the best pure passer, but Daniel's mobility and athleticism brings a new dimension to the position and, in my opinion, makes him the more dangerous QB. If Daniel had been 3 inches taller, he would be on the roster of one of the nation's top programs right now.
I think everything I said about Daniel, you could also say about Wasson... just add 6 inches to his frame.

Outstatted? Hardly. McElroy's numbers have been very impressive, but Daniel accounted for more yards and TDs last year than McElroy did this year.

Wrong, he set the state record for td passes with 56 to break Wasson's record.

really depeneds on the offensive system...daniel is a best fit in a spread/option system for example tech, mizzou, florida. mcelroy best fit in a pro style system for example southern cal, south carolina, notre dame. no way you can say who the best is because two totally diff athletes. thats why rivals makes two categories of QBs.

No..McElroy set the record today..as good as Daniel & Wasson were..Mc posted better numbers...

After today...
McElroy - 68 total TDs in 2005 (56 passing + 12 rushing)
Daniel - 69 total TDs in 2004 (48 passing + 21 rushing)
McElroy threw more TDs, but Daniel accounted for more TDs which is what I said.
McElroy only threw for 54 more yards this year than Daniel did last year but Daniel more than doubled McElroy's rushing total meaning Daniel was also responsible for more offense.

chase wasson. led SLC out of HUGE hole vs. lufkin, very impressive. not to mention TD record (until today) and had to make adjustment from 4a to 5a.

McElroy is a better pro style QB and a better passer. Daniel is a better runner and dual threat QB. Wasson was a great HS QB but his size hurts him at the next level.
When looking at the stats we should remember that McElroy platooned with Dodge for 10 games. Give McElroy all those snaps and his stats would be far and away the best of the three.

Chase Daniel gets my vote on this one. They are all great passers but he could kill you with his running as well.

I think the best QB will be Riley Dodge. Watch and see.

i have to say McElroy, because he didn't have the mobility that the other two had, yet he still got it done.

i would take daniel. yeah, ok, hes "smaller" compared to other qb's, but in today's football world, the ultimate qb can run and pass. mcelroy ran just b/c its part of the offensive scheme. if he goes to tech, he wont run. if daniel stays healthy and has a good career at mizzou, nfl scouts will be all over him.

Something just posted this afternoon in the DMN is great food for thought:
It's December 2005.
Matt Stafford, at a school not named "Southlake Carroll", has just led his team to a 15-0 record and the Texas 4A Division I state championship, blasting a very good Marshall team 59-0. A leading recruiting ranking service lists him as this year's top high school quarterback...he's definitely a 5-star prospect. And he's played his career in the next county.
Therefore, the fact that this particular Dallas Morning News column is even being written speaks volumes about what Greg McElroy has done this season. (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/columnists/tmacmahon/stories/121805dnsposdquicktake.272a9d2.html)
Not saying I'm voting for McE, but...

Daniel was smaller? Where've you been, he was easily the biggest (maybe mac had a couple extra inches in height, but daniel's definitely has a much larger frame)

Remember when comparing stats from Mc to Daniel that Riley Dodge came in every third series this year as well as some other ones. He took away roughly 60 attempts from McElroy that you have to believe would have resulted in more TD's.
However I voted for Wasson, I think what he did in 2002 can not be forgotten. In my mind he was the most dangerous of the 3 and had some impressive accomplishments. As far as a QB goes, I think he was better than Daniel, I also belive he was a better runner than Daniel.
