You all are great supporters. Driving a few hours staying for the game driving back. Even though it was a long ride back... you still held your head up high.

When programs reach this level of play, consistently, they have learned to win and lose like champions. Katy is the "HOME OF CHAMPIONS". The fans must show the same heart as is expected from their team. No point in being a sore loser. It only disrespects the program and all that the coaches and school are trying to instill in the players, band, drill teams, cheerleading squads and students. The Katy community wants them to learn more than just a sport.
All of Southlake kids and adults I spoke with after the game acted with respect. I was very happy not to get a loss rubbed in our faces from ignorant fans. You all played a great game and deservedly won. Congrats on another fine season. :cool:

today definitely had a championship atmosphere. both fans were loud and proud. it was the best atmosphere i've been involved with all season.

Okay, what was up with Rowdy(spelling) driving the 4-wheeler in the middle of Katy's halftime show. Only thing I thought was disrespectful. I know it wasn't SLC fans driving the 4-wheeler, but it was still disrespectful in my head. Katy loves the trashcan band, but watched them get interrupted due to the Dallas Cowboy's mascot driving a 4-wheeler that looked like it was riding on 22's.

i thought SLC played a great game and deserverd to win yall had great fans and it was a good game but i thought it was not classy at halftime when our marching band was playn and the D-Cowbay on his 4wheller came with yalls flag i jus thought it wasnt vary classy for the state champion team to do that

I think it is great how the fans are always dedicated no matter what. We stayed from start to finish as you said, and were with the guys all the way, win or lose. You guys had an awesome season and played with so much heart. Congratulations to you, Dragons, our 5A 2005 State Champions. Maybe we'll see you in the playoffs again next season! Your fans were very respectful and did not get big headed...well the ones I talked to anyway. Your band and drillteam had an awesome performance!

Katy will forever be #1 in our hearts! Good job Tigers on a great season! Your hard work and spirit shone through and everyone saw it. Keep your heads held high!

***Oh yeah, I have to agree about the 4 wheeler thing. I don't want to sound mean but I really found that to be disrespectful and very classless. It wouldn't have bothered me if it came out during the Dragon's performance.

Great game to all the boys. Katy always shows class. It was a terriffic atmosphere and I am glad the weather cooperated. As for the Cowboy mascot...I too thought "bad form". Sorry Katy fans, I don't think that was Carroll's doing though I'm not 100% sure.

I enjoyed the whole experience the last two days and hope to repeat (except win next time!). Congrats on your season SLC. I wish I could have met some of you SLC posters but I was too busy with the train. I was helping pull it and blowing it's horn. When we were in the tunnel packing up the train I saw the SLC band kids and kept shouting for dragon08. I never made contact.
Anyway, good luck next year.

sorry couldnt make it to that, i got in the stands around 11:20, then we startred warming up and stuff...after the game a couple friends of mine, were like whos dragons08, some kid asked if i was him, i said oh thats me haha...

here's the deal with the rowdy thing. a TS employee comes up to us (the crew) and asks to see our flag (we thought they were going to take it from us for some reason) so we asked why he wanted it. He said that Rowdy was going to come out with it and we were like "yeah okay cool!". However, we had absolutely no idea when he was going to come out, or perhaps on what kind of vehicle. In all honesty, other than giving him permission to use our flag, carroll had nothing to do with that.

They are SUPER fans. I know some of them. They are great. Fans, like the Katy team - are there till the end because they know traditionally they never give up. It showed yesterday.

Can't give enough kudos to both SLC and Katy - great programs.

Congrats to the SLC Dragons.

You guys won and deserved it - no ifs, ands, or buts. Both teams gave it their all, and the Dragons made the plays. Your defense really impressed me -better than the 2003 version, and IMHO made the difference. Both teams, schools and their fans are class acts, and are worthy representatives of what Texas HS football is all about.

Once again, congratulations on a great victory for the Dragons.

I have to agree with SLCDad never have i been to a game where the fans were in such large quanities and passionate about the game.....heck not even at the sate game against carroll did i see and hear such fire from the fans yall played great and no shame involved.....keep it up Katy:cool:
