Nice day to be at Rice. It was great to see Mcguffie back playing in Texas. He carried the ball several times one for about 30 yards. Klein's Clay Hebert got a ton of action. Shane Turner from Cy Falls carried the ball the majority of the time and did very well for himself. They play a 4-2-5 Defense which seemed to be fairly effective against the spread.
All in all a great day to be out in the clear cool skies of Houston watching some football...Spring practice and 7 on 7 are almost here!!!:D
Anyone else go?

Yes we were there. My son Phillip Gaines from Judson HS is a 2009 signee for football. He will be playing CB. As far as QB, they are still looking at 4 possibilities. Based on what I saw yesterday, Nick Fanuzzi should get the job. He had 3 TDs during his rotations and he has great feet.
What ever happened to Pierre Beasley?

He is a wide out. I talked to his Dad for a while and he seems to be having a great time at Rice.

Don't Fanuzzi and McGuffie have to sit out a year after transfering?
Enjoy the ride with Bailiff while he is there. If he continues what he had done the last couple of years then the big schools will come calling with lots of $$$.
Example-Sherman doesn't get on the ball in College Station then....
Bailiff is well respected as a very good recruiter.

Me and my son attended the junior day & scrimmage. Looks like Rice is reloading after losing Clements and Dillard. McGuffie had a nice run and Fanuzzi looked like he won the starting job, if the scrimmage was any indication of how his spring was going. Thought the school and staff was a great experience for my son.

He should be playing QB....He was an insane QB at Westfield and in reality the Talent at WR wasn't as good as what they have now....something like 20 TD's and 1 int his senior year...that is sick

Rice has him listed as a CB. He's kind of undersized to play safety

Is he from the 2009 signing class? Rice would not have a public list for one of the 12 scholly offers

Well that's good...can't have enough return guys. I was just surprise to see that he plays safety. Scout has him listed at 5'9 170. He could be bigger than that. It makes sense that Rice would offer him as a CB instead.
