Who is the one kid in your school's program that you feel will be the difference maker in 2009?

Whoever replaces Chris Roberson.

Its a toss up between Tommy Avers, Jackson Richards, Cade Foster and Shawn Hoagland. I feel confident in the QB no matter if its David Piland or Kyle Williamson who gets the nod. So really its down to 3 defensive players and 1 offensive player. I'm going to say Jackson Richards will be our difference maker.

Who is the one kid in your school's program that you feel will be the difference maker in 2009?

Xavier Maxwell, Darius Tubbs, and our Sophomore QB Javelle Allen.

If Allen gets everything in order, we will have one of the most explosive offenses in a long while.

We are stacked at WR, but Maxwells addition is HUGE.

While the Madison Mavericks will be LOADED next season, Aaron Green no doubt will be the heart of this team. :notworthy

This is what I would say. We need health for all of our kids. As long as that happens, my thinking is that if Avers ends up between 1200-1500 yards we'll be playing the week before Christmas. Our spread has always been most dangerous when run in perfect balance. If Avers has that kind of season it is a strong indicator that the lanes were open all year. That doesn't happen without a healthy passing game and a very good oline. So, I'm going with Avers and expect a highlight reel of a year from him.

First and foremost For Katy, whoever gets the nod at QB. The receiving core looks pretty balanced with Morris and Jones at WR and Swanson and Needham (I guess) for short yardage. As long as someone can get them the ball at least as well as P-Ray we'll be good.

The defense should be really balanced, but Holl, no matter where he plays, and Fisher, at MLB, will both lead this team.

I'm still counting on Haack. I'll be happy no matter who gets the nod, but if Brooks Haack starts as a soph... my lord.

How can you forgert the NOLA Nightmare at Defensive end? 10 sacks as a sophomore. Added some weight to his frame...he and Bray will control the LOS....They just need a guy in the middle.

Arm strength and mobility is very low in importance for Katy QB's. + if a Fresh see's time on varsity, it's probably because they know he is gifted. I think the last player to see time as a fresh was Andre Dean.

I have to agree with this post. Holl has been a factor since he started playing in 2007 on special teams.

Swanson has really bulked up and will be huge this year. It should be a great year for him.

Holl is self explanatory. With Swanson they could not throw him one single pass all year and he would still be a huge difference maker with his blocking (was last year for sure) and then you throw in the receiving aspect of the TE in Katy's offense and it is just scary.

I understand the guy taking the FB postion will be a big factor this year to. I can't remember his name but they say there shouldn't be much loss in that position. After watching Roberson, that is saying a lot.

There are a few getting their names in the mix. Matney was moved from ILB to FB as were a few others. FB will not be a problem.

Lots of kids are being moved around right now. Depth is a great thing to have.

Still need someone to step up at the other CB spot.

I have been waiting for someone from Permian to speak up and join in with their observations of the 2009 team. I have only been able to break it down to 10 young men that I think will be Difference Makers. This seems to be the formula for the great teams of the past. Sure, we have had some superstars, but the great teams of the past seemed to have a core group of young men that could just play as a team. Hard to say just one player.

Not taking away from the kid who was Defensive MVP in the championship but IMO Holl was as equally deserving. That kid makes a train wreck when he shows up to the ball.

In my opinion you could slice it right down the middle and give Holl the first half MVP and then give Sebi the second half MVP. If it were me I would have given the MVP to Coach Joseph, for the last 25 or so years.

I'm going to have to throw Kacy Rodgers and Mitchell Osborne in that mix also. Kacy led the team in interceptions and is the senior corner opposite Shawn. No one really thinks highly of Mitchell, he led the team in tackles last year with 104. The kid flies from sideline to sideline and is as fast as most running back. Watch out this year for him you will regret not even considering him.

For Klein Oak it will be quarterback Andy Wilson. He's the districts returning offensive player of the year and Will have to pick up the slack on the ground this year due to Oaks unusual lack of runningbacks this year. IMO if Oak finishes near the top of 13-5a we need to be talking about this kid being district MVP.
