Title of article-(Young is awaiting word from the NFL)

from the Dallas Morning News 12/15/05

Austin-Texas quarterback Vince Young sounds like someone who hasn't made up his mind about whether to return for his final year of eligibility. When asked if the outcome of the Rose Bowl could impact his decision, Young said, "Somewhat." "I haven't gotten any word yet from the NFL guys about how they feel about me, so that's why I say my decision is basically to come back and be with my teammates." Young said.

I say, play your senior year. If he can match this years performance next year, he would be the front runner for the Heisman and possibly be the #1 over-all pick in the NFL draft.

He should play his senior year to prove the hype about himself.

Or take the money and be a washup qb and an average receiver for 3 years?

He needs to work on his skills, another year will do him some good.

That can be said about every player that ever played the game...
My question was...what is left to prove?

What has he proven? He plays against a down year league. But if he beats USC with the help of a few friends I'll agree. Until then he's one of what is becoming the prototypical college QB. Scrambling fast. How many scramblers have survived the NFL for more than 5 years? Let's see...Dante....McNabb, Vick....all of them wounded and a liability to their teams now. How many Super Bowls do they have between all their years? 0

How many will they ever have? 0

I'll tell you like I told another. He's a side winger, there's only one in the league were talking about and He ain't no Brett Favre.

This "down" year argument is getting old really quick. He was the nation's #1 passer...and you say he is a scrambling QB? They said he could never led Texas to victory at "the shoe"...HE DID...they said he couldn't beat OU...HE DID....they said his passing skills were horrible and he was nothing but a running back playing QB...HE DISPROVED THAT as well. And come January 4th he will prove that he can lead his team to a national title...what's left?

I ask you that and you start spewing stupidity about McNabb and Vick...What the hell does that have to do with Vince Young coming back...and having something to prove?
And you say..."if he beats USC with the help of a few friends" What does that mean? Is there a QB out there that could beat them by himself? There is a reason why they have 11 guys on the field.

Scrambling QB's that played more than 5 years and were sucessful...ummm let's see.

Fran Tarkenton
Roger Staubach
Steve Young

Is that enough...or do you need more?

Your football knowledge is limited bro...don't try to go head up with me.

NO I wasnt here. I don't sit on every wide word with baited breath. The difference is ole great one, that those fellas ran in a era when linebackers and linemen weren't nearly as fast. AND we all know that. Well most of us do.

The NBA was white once too..........

As for My football knowledge, I was watching football while you were still a thought I would assume. Didn't happen to see the ice bowl while it was being played did you?

Maybe the linebackers were slower...maybe the lineman were slower...
You ever think maybe...Staubach and Tarkenton were slower too?

And was the NFL "white" when Steve Young was playing? He scrambled his *** off...won a Super Bowl too.

No I don't expect you to wait on my every word...but I do expect you to stick around if you pose a dumb *** question to me.

the NBA was white once too...you gotta be kidding me.

In TODAY's article in the AAS...

Young has maintained all season that he plans to return for his senior year. When asked Friday if anything had changed, Young said: "It's the same thing I've been saying."

Well once again you managed to twist a myth that is non-existent.

Since you missed it either by design or by ignorance let me clarify it for you....

The era you are speaking about was a long time ago except for Young...... Things applied to theNFL just as they applied to the NBA that no longer applies. Life has changed since that time.

Maybe the linebackers were slower...maybe the lineman were slower...

Not maybe, they were.

You obviously missed the analogy but don't try to make it racial my friend cause I am black by birth not by choice but if I had choice I'd be black as well.

As for head shrinking one of us certainly has a big one.

I'll ask again. How many chamipionships do they have? 0

How many will they have? 0

If you go 16-0 but don't win the biggest game you are an "also ran."

They'll never win the big one. Not because they can't or because they are intelligent enough, but because their style of play in this era won't leave them healthy enough to get through the season.

So when Tarkenton and Staubach were playing the NFL was a "white" league.
You might want to tell Tony Dorsett,Drew Pearson,Preston Pearson,Duane Thomas, and countless others that...and saying the linebackers were slower might be slightly true...meaning there were not as many really fast lineman and linebackers...but there were still defenses that were damn quick.

The fact remains...you asked the question "name a scrambling QB that has had any success" and you went on to say that none of them ever will...

I rattled off three scrambling QB's that had success two of which have Super Bowl rings....

So I answered your question...
and you responded with...some garbage about the freakin' NBA being all white back in the day. What the hell does that have to do with Vince Young?

Dude you are a hoax...you are Hdshrinker...I know this not by assumption...but by fact.

And the fact that you won't admit it...means you are both an idiot and a coward.

I cannot grasp the analogy because I happen to have a fully functioning brain.
Your analogy was that a scrambling QB hasn't nor will he ever have any success. Your words....not mine.

I disproved that with facts and names of scrambling QB's that have done it.

Now you want to run....
Well run...
I would run too if I made an idiotic remark and had nothing to back it up with.

Using your theory on the whole thing....I guess Dan Marino should be classified as an "also ran"...
