I realize that I am probably way late on this train, but it is really cool and I recommend it to pretty much anyone. I started using it about a month ago and I am loving it. If you have anyone you call long distance regularly it is awesome. The software is free and easy to download. Once you have it you can call anyone else who has Skype for free, and if you both have webcams, you can videoconference for free. Mrs. Bird uses it to tutor her students whenever they cannot make it in person.
If who you call doesn't have Skype you can put money on your Skype account and call for ridiculously low rates via computer. International is great,too. But really, if whoever you call has a computer and a decent internet connection, just tell them to download it. They'll be up and running in a few minutes and you can talk for free.
