My name is John O'Reilly and my father worked the fields,
In the hills of old Kilarney where I helped him turn the wheels...

Thank god, I knew I wasn't the only one who knew of that song. Reminds me of Cinderella man.
Charlie Robison=epic win. All songs he sings are epic win.
"My arms grew hard as Iron for a boy of 17"

"Great Divide" by Jack Ingram is also one that is great and I relate to very well, growing up in Midland.
I reckon Loving county don't have too many lights. :p

That was always my deal with the song, which is a good one. I've been to Loving county plenty of times, lights is not my primary association.
I am partial to "New Year's Day"....
It's new year's day here on the border.....

I've just got good music on this playlist. Most of it Texas music. I have Freddy Fender loaded up, Terry Allen, Charlie Robison, Bob Wills, ZZ Top, Two Tons of Steel, and the Sir Douglas Quintet. I like to put eclectic stuff together on my playlist.

In all seriousness, if your choices are Freddy Fender or the Greyhounds, it's a no-brainer.
Although San Benny can claim a world record setting Olympic track gold medalist. But he's got the football stadium.
