Westlake boys' soccer is out of the playoffs for only the second time in our 40-year history, but girls won district. Boys baseball looks good; softball has played probably two strongest squads in opening games and split. I'm optimistic they'll make the playoffs, but I'll be surprised if they go very far.

UIL literary results also get added before they select a winner, right? and golf? Do tennis and swimming earn any spring points?

As far as I know, it's the first ever win by College Park over The Woodlands lifetime when they beat them earlier in the week.

We are doomed... doomed. This is potentially the first year since the beofre the turn of the last century that Carroll may not win a state championship in at least one team sport. :( We have individual state champs, but, alas, no teams in this academic year thus far. But the year is not over yet.

Does wrestling factor in? Westlake had a state champion and 5 placers (6th or better) and took home the 3rd place team trophy behind Allen and Bishop Lynch I think, neither of which are in the top 10 for the lone star cup.

Looks good for katy top 5 in the state in softball and baseball. Girls soccer tied state power CR for district and boys soccer got third in a tough district.

yes -- and swimming is in this update -- Woodlands girls won state == boys came in 3rd I think

Oak Ridge also beat Woodlands baseball Thurs night

Im sure TWH will make playoffs in baseball -- but probably 1 and out --so only 2 points for LS Cup

UIL only posts top 10. While it is possible to win Cup without winning a State Championship -- it really helps ( 10 points each ) in addition to having playoffs in most every other category. The Woodlands won State in Boys AND girls Cross- Country as well as Girls Swimming -- so that is 30 of their 50 points right there. They went 2 rounds in Football for another 4 pts -- 1st round in both boys and girls basket ball ( 2 each ) -- 4th in Boys Swimming ( 4 pts ) -- -- Volleyball won district & went 3 rounds for 8 points --- so that is 30+4+2+2+4+8 = 50 pts ---
