I am probably heading up to this one, but dang!

$85 bucks is the cheapest seat they are giving. The best seats are going to run you $125.00 plus a "contribution" of $175.00 to the 12th Man Foundation.

I had similar shock, when I tried to go online, and find tickets for the A&M/Army game in the Alamodome a couple years back.

It's Army, people!

Luckily, I had a connection I did not know about. 40 yard line, about 15 rows up. ALMOST too close, for my 11 year old son to see anything!

this article is confusing.

so 100k seats and 20k standing room?

or 80k seats, expandable to 20k seats (where do you add 20 thousand seats?) and 20k standing room?

80K seats expandable by 20K more. 20 K standing room in other plazas where they can watch the game on TV. How the stadium expands, I don't know.

oh i get it now. it follows the water molecule.

"When Jerry World is cooled, it contracts like one would expect until a temperature of approximately 4 degrees Celsius is reached. After that, it expands slightly until it reaches the freezing point, and then when it freezes it expands by approximately 25%."

Seats can be added to the three (the ones that are above ground) of the five tiers in the endzone, thus bowling the entire stadium in. 10,000 in each endzone.....

It has been awhile, but when they first showed the stadium design, they described how you could put about 20k of temp seating in the end zone plazas to expand to 100k.

So is this a "home" game for the Aggies, or does Arkansas get 1/2 of the tix?

If so inclined, i would be purchasing mine from the Hogs with no "Tradition" contribution...

1/2 the tickets according to the diagram I saw somewhere. Appears to be split kind of diagonally, each team getting a whole end zone.

Jerry has lost his damn mind . I guess I will be watching it on t.v. , Hopefully Jerry will suffer the same results as the eagles . Lose the last game in the old stadium and the first in the new one. Jerry must need more money for plastic Surgery. Heck he should just put preperation H on his skin and that will shrink it up . LOL

Look, all you prejudiced little rocket scientists.....let's clear up some facts here.

Jerry does not set the prices for games other than the Cowboys games.

aggy and hog/pig set the prices for the game...if you got a beef about the prices, go piss an moan to aggy and hog/pig.

If you Mensa candidates would do a little research about the games already scheduled and checked the corresponding ticket prices, you would note quite a different range of prices.

Come on kids, do a little homework before you insist on being put in your place.....;)

Somewhat off topic, they will be hosting a Gold Cup soccer game(double header) this summer. I am going to try and get out there for that. I was at Opening Day for the Ballpark, and I could claim the same for that sporting arena. First sporting event, I think the George Strait extravaganza is a tad earlier.

The prices are the same. Club level seating on the Arkie side requires a $175 contribution to the Razorback foundation. That's where they are really going to clean up. Nice try, though....

I think someday we'll actually find the threshhold for overpricing sporting events. It's extremely difficult to believe it hasn't been crossed yet...

I am planning on going to the Nebraska- Tech game in Lincoln and taking my family to the UH- Tech game in Houston. I think the Nebraska ticket will be $65, which I consider reasonable for 3-4 hours of great entertainment. The UH tickets are cheaper than that.

I looked at Rockets tickets when Cleveland came to town. While there are $35 tix, I have sat on the top row of Toyota Center before, and it is fun being there, but it's just crazy to pay that and not be able to see the game that well. Most decent tix were in the $250+ range.

I guess the days of casually viewing the college football game are limited to our living rooms. It is sad to me.

On a positive note...It also reinforces the value of Texas high school games.

What let me get this straight , Is the game not being played at Jerry's world? How can you say Jerry does not set the prices for other than cowboy games . He has got to be getting some kind of money out of this game. Don't be so simple minded. That would be like me throwing a party in your back yard and charging 10 bucks a person to get in and we party until whenever and then leave you to clean up the mess. You can bet Jerry is getting a pretty good amount of money for this game. We need to remember if arkansas and texas a&m need the money so bad they should have had the game at arkansas one year and at college station the next , that way they keep all the money.

Of course Jerry will get his cut. He will make a fortune off parking and concessions alone. Not sure what he gets from ticket sales, but he will come out okay even without that.

If they can sell those tickets at that price, more power to them. I do have to wonder whether there are 80,000 Ags/Hogs (4-8 last year, both) willing to cough up that kind of coin. Then again, it's looking like I might be one of those.....:o

I am beginning to wonder when/if the downturn will start affecting prices at entertainment events, as it already is affecting things like cars.

Didn't you read about all the WAlmart employee bonuses?

edit, more appropriate for the yard, but this weekend I heard the National 60+ delinquency rate was 1.6%. Astoundingly low for such an economy don't you think?

I won't be paying that much to see a college football game. $85 + gas + food + parking will end up around $150 a seat. The good seats probably run you close to $400 when you include the required donation.

I saw the Yankees play at the Ballpark in Arlington last year and I sat in the front row of home run alley for $60 a ticket and the parking was free. I understand that baseball tickets are generally cheaper but it was front row and that is less than the nosebleed at the A&M game.

You should know by now that there has to be a reason behind me going to a game in which I support neither team!:D

There's a spot on the Lonny list of things to do that says:

Watch all of the former SWC teams play (Just the last 9, not necessarily all of the other cats and dogs from the early years)

I've seen every former SWC team play except the Pigs. This is as close as the Pigs will be to me in a long time and I don't really want to travel to Fayetteville to watch them play and listening to Pig Sooie is only half as bad as having to listen to another SEC team in the same game.

Money-wise, I can buy the overpriced ticket and still save gas money.

I would rather watch Tech beat the Lobos, but I can give up a game to close out that item on the list.

Now saying that, I've seen all of the other former SWC teams play home games, so a game in Arlington won't be a Pig home game. You might ask how I'd go about watching the Pigs play at home and here's the dilemma:

Sep 5 vs. Missouri State, but I want to be in Lubbock for the Tech game vs. North Dakota. It's the first game of the year and I won't be at the Rice game the next week in all likelihood and I really want to see the Sioux play because they're a WCHA hockey conference opponent for Alaska-Anchorage.

Sep 19 vs. Georgia, but I'll be in Austin for the Texas game.

Oct 10 vs. Auburn, but I'll be in Lubbock because I've never seen Kansas State play.

Oct 31 vs. Eastern Michigan (Homecoming), but I'll be in Lubbock to watch Kansas play and that will be the last of 12 Big 12 teams to watch play football.

Nov 7 vs. South Carolina, and this is a Tech bye week. The only issue is if I use that week to see my parents since I won't for most weeks during football season.

Nov 14 vs. Troy and this is the week Tech plays at Okie Lite. I might could go to both games, but I don't know the times yet. As much as I'd like to go to Stillwater, I hate seeing Tech lose every game I go to in Oklahoma.

Nov 21 vs. Mississippi State, but I'll be in Lubbock for the OU game.

I might not go to the A&M game, but I'm going to see either that game or the Nov 7/14 game this year.

I think the prices of pro sports are generally crazy, but pro football is the worst.

College still isn't too bad, but the Big 12 is probably the worst about overpricing stuff for decent games if you're buying individual or road tickets. $65 to get inside the stadium at Lincoln is a good deal. I had to have season tickets last year to do it, but I still only paid $55 for the Texas game and that's a great deal!:D

I still won't gripe about Tech prices when you consider that 10 Cowboys games overall and 8 regular season games cost no less than $1300 and it might be $1800 with a PSL.

I'll have a decent view for 7 Tech home games this year and it will only cost like $400. I'll pay at least that much in gas.

Slorch, you win out. I won't go to the Aggyfest in Arlington. I'll probably end up going to the Arky game vs. South Carolina in Fayetteville. After I got to thinking about it, I'm not going to be happy until I go to a UTEP game in El Paso vs. just a UTEP game. I'm looking at a midweek Oct 21 game vs. Tulsa. Somewhere in there, I need to squeeze in a North Texas home game, but I haven't seen their schedule yet.
