View Full Version : Grocery store reciept coupons

My HEB has always printed out coupons on the back of their reciepts, and quite often they are pretty good--- five bucks off of a haircut at Sportsclips, half off a salad at Doc Greens, etc. I've never been one to turn up my nose at a coupon.

But for the past few weeks they haven't been printing them, just blank reciepts. Anyone else noticed this at your HEB/grocery store, or is this something just going on at my store?

slorch didn't hammer the spelling of receipt?

When we shop at Tom Thumb the coupons that print out with the receipt is getting shorter. They used to have some pretty good ones.

Grocery shopping is 90% at Target. No coupons on the receipts. Yesterday I used a $7 off at a Mexican restaraunt and buy one get one free Jamba Juice(2 of them actually).

I like coupons, and clip them weekly, but have a hard time getting mrs. pied to bring them in the store.

Thanks.

Unless you're really lucky...

I've been in Targets all over the country and many of them have wine, but I've never seen beer in a regular Target.

i wish they did, because they typically have stuff aimed towards a more selective clientele.

The Super Target in Spring has beer and does the "buy 6 singles and make your own six-pack," but our Target in The Woodlands only carries wine.

I worked at HEB when I was in college and I remember back then we had receipt paper rolls with the coupons on the back and some that were just plain white. Whenever I would run out and get more I didn't care for either or. I just grabbed what was available. Some customers would ask for them though lol

Ours is pretty new. It is a nice store. If they were going to compete with all the new grocery stores they had to sell beer/wine.

Their produce is usually better than Tom Thumb. I will get essentials at Target and then go to Tom Thumb or Old Town Meat Market in Lewisville for the best meat.

At Sams and Costco I spend to much on other stuff I think I need.

I will use coupons when I find them.

I asked about 'em when I first got a plain roll, and they told me that they would be getting more coupon rolls soon.....but that was about a month ago and still no dice.

I have no shame, if some customers are getting coupons, I will ask for them as well. No one ever got to be wealthy by turning down the opportunity to pay less.

I like Sprouts for produce/bulk items. HArd to beat oatmeal at $0.79/lb or $0.33 on sale. Granola is a good deal ther as well.

I always forget about Sprouts. They do have good produce and such. Wish we would get a Central Market. The Hatch Chili Festival is the best. I will buy two cases of fresh green chilis and freeze them to use throughout the year.

You should start looking on the ground then. So many people just throw them away.

I worked in the HEB gas station too, and I hated those gas coupons. Some people would come with like a crap load of those things. Most of them didn't scan and it was a :Censor: entering them in manually. I don't even know if they still give those out.

I'm not one to use coupons just because I'm lazy. But I will use the ones that HEB usually already had attached to the product.

I miss HEB.

Kroger and HEB are duking it out in our area( if not statewide) and we get all kinds of freebie coupons in the mail. They are good ones too like a carton of ice cream or gallon of milk.

competition is a beautiful thing ain't it?:D

They shut the HEB down over here but a store called Food Town prints up some good coupons. Oil changes, burgers etc.

Food Town is very aggressive. Houston itself is one of the most competitive grocery markets I have seen.

Still wish United was down here.

Went to marketstreet United on the south side of Lubbock last night and got some groceries for my mom's house( up here on vacation.) i just about fell to my knees and cried when I didn't have to unload my basket at the check out... and a very courteous, high school aged kid took our groceries out to the car with us.

I would shop at United if they came to the Houston market, just because of their focus on the customer. it still feels great to have someone earn my business.
