Ahhhh...Tennessee...If I ever get evicted from Texas I want ot end up in the Smokies of Eastern Tennessee. That way folks won't make fun of my tooth. That's right. I only have one. I continue to paint it white but that black stuff is just too persistant. Anyway, to me that is heaven.

Bubba must be one of them coaches who does a plethora of bad play calling and hears about it all week. Coaches absolutely deserve to be criticized on their play calling; sometimes I really don't understand what the hell coaches are thinking. Sometimes they go too conservative. Sometimes they go to aggressive; I prefer to aggressive. I know sometimes coaches do things to set something up in the future but sometimes they just kill drives. I am just saying I have seen some God awful play callers in my short life and sure as hell hope you aren't one Bubba.

A good play call can be made to look God awful by poor execution. And sometimes, the defensive coordinator will get lucky and call the one defense that will totally foil the play that was just called. Unless you know the design and intent of the play itself, it's pretty hard to judge whether it was a good call or not.
Oh, and I'm headed back to Katy to spend Christmas with my future wife and my brothers.

Well it is unexcusable to run draw play after draw play and keep losing two yards each time and killing every drive. That is what happens here in Seguin but our O-line is not capable of providing the appropriate blocking to achieve this. They try to do it to set up the fake draw pass, fake draw QB run. Kind of like what UT does. I have seen other coaches continue to try things that don't work too. That is just one example.

I hear ya...there are definitely bad play calls. I was just saying that sometimes good play calls end up looking terrible in the end.

I will be working Christmas Eve (hopefully not too long) and then afterwards will be traveling down to Spring to my sister's house for Christmas. Mom, Dad, my niece, my roommate and I will join my sister, brother-in-law and two nephews. Should be a great time and looking forward to spending the time with family.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Then there are some that just boggle the mind.
Lake vs Katy Taylor
Lake down by 7, 1 minute to go in the game and they are at 4th and 1 yard. We punted.

It is very easy to call plays after the fact. It is alot harder when you are on the clock. So sit back in your reclined and second guess. That away you will always be successful. I have been in the stands scouting and the majority of fan's don't know one play from another to them it is either a pass or a run. And if you ran the same play twice in a row and got stuffed the first time it is the worst play in the history of football, and you run it the second time and score all of a sudden your a genius. Keep writing your articles for Iamavirgin.com and I will not second guess you there, because you are the expert.:D

HAHAHAHA, too funny bubba. I would absolutly love to watch a football game with you someday and get your take on some of the bad play calling I witness. Trust me, I do know what you mean about the dumb fans, I only sit with a few fans at football games because I can't stand those moronic ones. I am either going to be a coach or a sports writer someday. If I am a coach, I won't be in the stands and I won't be a terrible play caller.

When you scout you have to sit in the stands sometimes. When you are off on different nights and you want to watch a game, you have to sit in the stands. If and when you become a coach, what do you plan on coaching? You know unless you are the varsity boy's bascketball, tennis, or golf coach you will have to coach football. What side of the ball do you want to be on? And what do you prefer to run defensively and or offensively?

Yes, I know coaches have to go to games in order to scout; that wasn't a shot at you.
If I became a coach I would definitely coach football. I love to play basketball but I love to watch, think about, and breakdown football. Football is more of a chess match and I love that. I would definitely become a football coach and coach on the defensive side of the ball. If I ever become a head coach/defensive cordinator, I would run the 3-3-5 stack. I am no expert on it but I have studied that defense and looked into it. I actually wrote a paper on the 3-3-5/3-5-3 a few weeks ago. I think if ran correctly, you could put a ton of pressure on high school offenses (except Southlake, no one can put pressure on them:p ). What side of the ball do you coach on? What do you run?
