I guess it's a good thing we demolished tu a few weeks ago and are still heading to the tourney.

Oh wait, why am I even saying this to someone with no affiliation whatsoever with tu? :rolleyes:

Yeah that was a real bad loss for Texas. We have been awful flaky this year. On and off, on and off. Tough to watch sometimes.

Think we'll both be in the tourney honestly but it's still nice to go deep in the Big XII tourney. Don't expect Texas to advance past this next round but we'll see.

Must be easy for you t-shirt fans who bandwagon on a "good" team. Either way, A&M has a better record than Texas, beat them by more at home, and finished higher in the Big XII. :D

Tech has some good programs. A full ride is a full ride. Not leaving college with $60,000 debt is a great thing.

What are you talking about, tcehtard? We blew out Texas and that helped put us in the tournament. Did you not read my first post which said it's good to have wins like that under the belt? Yep, good to know tceh does still accept any idiot off the streets.

Latest bracketology has Texas a #7 seed in the Midwest Region and A&M a #9 seed in the East Region. A&M hoping they don't draw the UCONN bracket. :eek: Probably could have used a win here to keep them in the 7 seed range and aware from a second round #1 opponent. Loss could help too though and drop them to a #12. #12 seed would be much more favorable than the #9 which is ironic like you said.

It sucks for A&M because if they can get past the 8 seed in the first round, they'll have the 1 seed waiting in round 2. So I hope they drop to about a 12 seed because that means they play a 5 seed in the first round and probably a 4 seed in the second. That's the easiest path in my opinion.

Well, you're ignorant, that's for sure. Our RPI is like 29, not over a hundred. And last year, Baylor lost to the 12 seed (the only time that's ever happened) and still made it... And the selection committee will look at that game, but it will also consider we beat the SEC champs, won 6 of the last 7, have been out of the first round the last 3 years (they'll lie and say past years don't matter, but they do), etc. One bad loss won't kill the tourney chances. I'll take the opinions over the analysts who have said we're in over a bitter tceh fan's.

Yeah. I would rather have Texas a #6 seed because I really don't like their chances against a #2 seed but you really don't know with this year's squad. They have some good wins against top teams but a lot of embarrassing awful losses.

No offense, but for the Aggies that think they are locks for the NCAAs you are delusional. Tech is not a good team and the NCAA committee is not always forgiving with this type of loss. Being a bubble team a loss to Tech severely hurts your chances. Just hope that a lot of bubble teams do not make a run in other conference tourneys ...

You should know just how easily the committee overlooks something like this. Baylor is the only team to ever lose to the 12 seed, and they made it last year after doing so (even though they had no business being there).

I might, but I'm in one of the best engineering programs in our nation, so I think I'm well taken care of, unlike the tcehtards who are about to lose accreditation. LOL

Well, I guess Nebraska isn't a big road win, but LSU at a neutral site is. I guess it is a different year and all, but a lot of the analysts I've seen have said the Big XII SHOULD get 6 bids (but you never know with the selection committee). Oh, and while this IS a bad loss, it's our ONLY bad loss of the year IMHO. Maybe Tulsa...

You really have no clue what you are talking about do you? You will never see a school from a major conference as a 15-16 seed. Even a pitiful Georgia team made it as a 13 seed last year. 15-16 seeds are for your SWAC type conferences, not BCS type conferences.

It is just how the system works... Power Conferences have "inherently" tougher schedules than schools that play in leagues like the SWAC... because of that the "big name teams" as you put it will not fall into the 15/16 slot due to a higher RPI

We don't deserve to go to the tourney... I have actually been around our team/worked with them over the past two years... they lack swagger and discipline... no need to be bitter about that. If we pull a miracle and somehow win the Big 12, I will be ecstatic. Outside of that I will be satisfied with an NIT bid and knowing how far this program has come in five years.

Power Conferences--> BCS Conferences (Big East, ACC, Pac 10 etc etc)
High Mid Major--> Missouri Valley Conference etc etc
One Bid Leagues--> Sun Belt, SWAC etc etc

Now that I'm no longer p!ssed off, let's discuss.

Singletary went beast mode on the ags, who let their guard down thinking the game was over going into the 2nd half. NOT GOOD for the ags.

Mizzou will likely (not certainly but likely) crush tech tomorrow though cause Mike's gonna be tired from all that adrenaline rush and partying tonight. ;)

The ags need to hope for no major upsets this weekend, but my guess is they'll get in on the last Big XII bid. The good news is that JC will be rested for the tourney and we probably don't end up play UConn in the 2nd round.

The fact remains that A&M has the numbers of a good bubble team and good recent tournament history. In addition, a higher seed that lets it's guard down against the ags can get beat like Mizzou did.

Did anybody watch the SP season premiere tonight? I missed it. Can you hook a brotha up with a link? :D

It's very well possible Singletary can go psycho for 4 days in a row. Sometimes Cinderella teams like Tech run the table and win the conference, but just as often they win a few and lose out before winning the tourney.

Singletary is not a starter, correct? Think he will start next game or at the very least get Ginobli like minutes? If he can stay hot Tech can ride the wave but I think they need to win the Big XII Tourney to get a seed in the dance.

People don't pay attention to academics as much as they do athletics and tradition. Football, being the most widely publicized sport at most universities, reflect back on the university itself, so no matter how good you are academically you will still be frowned upon.

Yes, and probably because I'm in high school. Of course, Ive seen academics play a bigger role with this being my senior year, but this is the first I've ever seen it play even play a role. Yes, Tradition plays a huge role in where kids want to go to school nowadays, its just from what I have seen. It says a lot for me, and its all I know. No, tradition and academics matters. That's why schools like BYU, A&M, Florida, Texas, Nebraska, Stanford, Notre Dame, LSU, UVa, UGA, UNC, and OU all do well.

What you have to ask is "what kind of traditions." The tradition of dismantling your own athletic facilities and comparing ***** rashes with your frat buddies to figure out what STD you have are not traditions many people want to be part of.

There are some traditions at A&M that I think a pretty unique and I respect, there are others, that I think are just flat out questionable. Maybe its because I'm from West Texas....:confused:

I know Tech has rep for STD, and sometime I like to poke fun at that too. But I still know that the STD rates at Tech are on par with the rest of the conference....

I am a Tech alum, granted an older one but what the heck is this that Tech is known for STD? I have never heard this before. Story please.

I guess its more of a recent thing. I'm not sure how it came about. Theres nicknames:

Raider Rash
Caprock Crabs
Lubbock Clap
Loop 289 Lumps

It came about because Lubbock county's rates for certain STDs are about twice as high as the state average.

That article came out 7 years ago. I wonder how much it has changed since then.
