even though SLC may be 62-1 (Katy being the ONE :)) I know its gonna be an amazing re-match, and even though its supposed to rain and snowish? and stuff, im sure our Katy men can shut em down, SLC has amazing coaching, the team doesnt nearly as much skill as they have discipline... but thats just what i think.

I'm excited about the game, regardless of who wins....it'll be a good motivator and good exuse for a vacation in Dallas!! :)

Anything she says is 100% right in my eyes;) . You are right though, SLC isn't the most talented team in the state... just the most disciplined and well coached. I am pulling for Katy but in the end, I think it is SLC by 7 or so. I just hope it is a good game if I am going to make that kind of drive.

Interesting point of view :)

There is one thing you are wrong about. From a talent standpoint, SLC buries Katy this year. Almost every position across the board, in fact. I'm not being rude, just going by what the scouts and colleges think. I'm sure there are exceptions, but from an overall talent standpoint, SLC has NO excuses if they lose...

Now I am sure I'll be attacked by someone for saying that. It really is pretty close to the truth, though.

With both SLC and Katy, it's all about the coaching... In years past SLC hasn't had this much talent. This is an exception to the rule.

Katy's coach is outstanding, as is Dodge.. This is gonna be a great one, I think..

I agree with that. There are only a select few I let know my true identity for various reasons. For one, I act unproffesional at times on this board and I have a job that I may be fired from if my identity is revealed.

For two, this is a public board discussing football and arguement can be intense leading to anger; there are crazy people in this world that can commit crazy crimes over sports related differences. Just look at the dad who walked in and shot his sons coach because he wasn't getting playing time. Just imagine if you insulted a dad like that on here and he knew your name in location.

I don't think I would respect her much if she wanted to get drunk with me, smoke with me,(I don't really drink and I haven't ever smoked anything...that stuff is unhealthy) cruise with me, and act like a teenager. Nothing good can come of a relationship like that with your kids. I love my mom more than anyone in the world and tell her pretty much anything and everything because she is very understanding. I don't think I would respect her much if she wanted to get drunk with me, smoke with me,(I don't really drink and I haven't ever smoked anything...that stuff is unhealthy) cruise with me, and act like a teenager. Nothing good can come of a relationship like that with your kids. Some of my friends moms are like "You can get drunk as long as you are at home when you do it".. trust me... that approach doesn't work.
But look at it this way....at the time he had a son.....he was a child himself....that's all that both of them know.

My Mom enabled me a lot as a teenager. When she and my Dad were together...things were totally different. I was well mannered, straight A's,no drinking,no smoking, yes sir/no sir......

When it was just my Mom raising me.......it got ugly.
I am a firm believer that every child...especially a boy...needs a male role model...a mentor...a big brother...something...
Because without it...you are just asking for trouble.

Oh I took it as a compliment. No offense here.

Believe me, any woman who says you "forget" how it feels as soon as you see those little ones are lying. They just don't want the kids to feel bad. But if they are willing to step up there and do it again, now that is a real woman because she knows what she is in for. ;)

I never really had a father figure. My dad was a ******. My mom did a hell of a job of being both mom and pops for me. Great woman. She is the reason I have so much respect for women. However, I did have an older brother (just one year older) who was is a pretty good guy and kind of helped show me the right way. I also have a little brother who looks up to me... my mom being a single mom.. I felt responsible for showing him the right way and the only way I could do that is to be a good person adn do the right thing.

My big bro is agood guy...I feel I became a good young man and my little bro is doing the same. We all just sort of held eachother accountable.

Single moms are great! And people who are raised by them and realize what they go through are even better. Good for you for realizing and stepping up for your little brother.

I am a single mom, but I have girls. However, they both know and recite that I brought them into this world and I can take them out, and they live by that code. If I had a son, he would do just the same because I would accept nothing less. He would wear a shirt to the table, take his hat off inside, etc. Old fashioned manners, in which adults complain that young folks have none of, yet they are the ones who have to teach it to them. It makes no sense to me.

Lonny loves his kids...and I wouldn't trade mine for the world....But everything changes when someones very exsitence is all on you. I got a $2500 christmas bonus....If I had no kids...I could do alot. But...I have to Get PSP's, Infamil....baby clothes that will be too small next week. My son thinks New shoes are made to walk through mud and water puddles....etc...etc....the baby isnt even here yet and today alone I've spent almost $500
Yeah, almost everybody loves their kids. What I said was very true. It's a lot of fun to conceive kids, but when they come into this world you have a lot of responsibility on your hands. Dada is right when he says their very existence depends on you.

Far too many fathers have kids that they never intend to raise and way too many girls have kids that they can't really provide for or are ready to raise. You don't want kids to have kids, but it happens all the time and can have far-reaching damaging effects.

As far as raising kids, you have the costs of raising them, but that's minor compared to the up and down emotions and general struggles as their bodies change. You also have to be real unselfish with your time and that's why I said it wasn't always fun to go through the up and downs of raising children. I wouldn't trade my girls for the world.

Yeah, I know. I have talked to Lonny before and could see he loved his kids.

I think having kids is going to be a blast as long as I am making enough money to not be finacially strapped when I do so. I want kids but I want to make sure it is with the right lady. In a while, I am going to start a thread up on the off-topic stuff for us younger guys stating where we see ourselves in 10 years. I have it all planned out.:D
If you want to know how much I love my kids, I filed for divorce when my wife ran off because the cops said she didn't have to let me see the kids that she took with her while I was out of town. I've spent over $6K trying to get custody of them with a crooked judge and social worker against me. I'm not done spending money because we'll still have to go back to court again. My wife wouldn't agree to move to Wichita Falls when I had to leave SA and wouldn't agree to meet me halfway to drop off the girls, so I have to drive from Wichita Falls to SA and back 2 or 3 times a month just to see the girls on a weekend.

It's more than a blast...Sometimes I wish I had my son when I was like 17...lol...Today he could be driving me around and stuff....baby sitting. I have a cousin who is a 32 year old Grandpa....lol....funny but sad.
I've got to post the words one more time!

I'm My Own Grandpa

Now many, many years ago, when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, and soon they, too, were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life,
My daughter was my mother, cause she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad,
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.

Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run,
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,
Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild,
And everytime I think of it, it nearly drives me wild,
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!

I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

lonny23
12-15-2005, 07:39 AM

My wife wouldn't agree to move to Wichita Falls when I had to leave SA and wouldn't agree to meet me halfway to drop off the girls, so I have to drive from Wichita Falls to SA and back 2 or 3 times a month just to see the girls on a weekend.

You are a great father Lonny.
