Anyone heard what it will be called? Corporate sponsership?
AA field, Southwest airlines dome, Bell helicopter arena....
Also what is the high school closest to the new stadium?
You can see it from Trinity high school, im guessing 6 miles.

The last I heard they were going to wait awhile on the naming rights because of the economy. I'm going to guess that the closet high school is Arlington Lamar.

Rocketgrl, anything you say gets guys' attention... and I'll leave it there (it's a family board).

But, my vote is for Landryland until Jerry makes $200M selling the name on it. Heck, if Reliant can pay $105M for the old Astrodomain, Jonesy is bound to get $200M from some poor sap. Since the Cardinals have University of Phoenix Stadium, how about DeVry Stadium? Maybe American Intercontiental Arena?

They are going to call it Trojanland because it is close to Euless Trinity, BUT for other reasons also. Namely how they are screwing people. :p

They may even want to call it the Con-Dome.

I do seem to recall that the Dragons have managed to make it by the first few rounds on at least a few occasions to be playing on the final day of the season; about eight occasions now.

But I don't particularly want our name on that bubble yet. TEA might want Robin Hood money for it.

Heaven forbid giving money to educate the students of Texas.

Are you somehow under the very misguided impression that the taxpayers of the Carroll ISD do not pay more than their share of funding other students in the state.? We pay for our own students and contribute almost an additional $2000 to the state for each of our students to make up for what some other districts don't pay. If you want to pay more from the back nine, feel free to make whatever additional contributions you would like.

No need to get your britches knotted up Eddy. Your ISD is not unique in it's financial situation. Let's be real, no HS wil be involved in naming Jerry's World. I would rather see Pro Sports be involved with making "RobinHood" contributions to less than affluent ISD's. Texas ranks poorly in public education so we can all agree the current system is flawed in many ways. I have put 4 children through public and private schools in Texas, they are all either graduated or attending institutions of higher education so I really have no dog in this hunt any more.

First, my name is not Eddy. I have paid my taxes for years and have had no children go through Texas public schools. Barring any really serious mistake on my part, that will remain the case. However, I have never objected to such tax payments and believe they are well worthwhile. Likewise, no where do I state that Carroll is unique, but there are still only about 10% of the ISDs making Robin Hood payments. I have done the math for Carroll, however, which is why the example was used.

While many of the ISDs in Texas perform poorly, particularly the larger city ISDs, other districts perform quite well, so the average can be misleading. Yet some of those low performing ISDs are now becoming or have become subject to Robin Hood assessments. But in any event, it is not from lack of funding that such performance stems, even though I would agree that the state funding mechanism does require major reformation.

Third, the initial Robin Hood comment was simply sarcasm.

If Dodge comes back, I think Southlake should buy the naming rights to LandryLand and call it "Prodigal Park" with the stipulation that they get to play their home games there for the next 1000 years.

Speaking of Robbing Hood :), I pay taxes to HEB-ISD and also to the Gordon ISD (six man football, 196 students in K-12). Gordon graduates about 12 seniors per year and until recently didn't even have A/C in the gym where they hold their graduation ceremonies. Their football stadium doesn't even reach the level of most middle school stadiums and they have been state champs several times.

GISD pays money INTO Robin Hood so that larger schools in the same county draw money out of the play, like Mineral Wells (where HS has 962 students in grades 9-12).

Can someone please explain the logic in that?

But, back on topic: I hope to see THS (notice I don't use "ET") play in the "Boss Hawg Dome" (credit Galloway) several times this next year.

As long as Carroll is in the last game of the season there, you can play as many as you like.:D
