It seem you add some new clips to Noel's tape, it seems like he's gotten even better in his junior year    !!!!! If he was 6' feet or bigger instead of 5'8" he'd be HANDS DOWN next year's top recruit, and he still might be.

Im going with Bradly Stephens, he ran for 2,600yrds in 9 games, the guy had to go up against 8 man fronts EVERY WEEK!!!! he is bigger and faster than Devine and is MUCH MORE VERSITAL.....Bradly Stephens is the BEST RB IN THE NATION for 2007

Bradley is certainly bigger , and probably is more of a receiving threat but the rest is debateable.

Do we need a calendar course here? LOL - this is like the 5th thread with the wrong years....
Repeat after me - this is 2005; last year was 2004; next year is 2006.

I'm going with Joseph Reese as the best rb in texas next year. Just a physical beast. I think Stephens will have the most productive year next year because his stats are sick and you can't argue with that, but i think that Joseph Reese will end up being the best back next year from this class.

All you have to do to get your stuff on the site is send in a highlight tape or send us game tape. If you send us game tape send a roster along with it. We make highlights from the game tapes and put them on the site. It is totally free. Just send tape to me at

just thought i'd throw in more of my .02 cents about the Stephens and Devine debate...IF YOU WANNA CALL IT THAT...
Bradly Stephens was timed in the 40yrd dash at the US Army Combine in SA Texas in 04' as a SOPH.....he recorded a 4.41 40 and weighed in at 187lbs and stood 5'10 3/4.....SOUNDS DARN CLOSE TO 5'11 190lbs....he also benched 265lbs (NOT BAD FOR A SOPH) and squated 480lbs....as far as his Track times, Bradly Stephens ran the 100m in 10.8 sec ON HIS FIRST and ONLY ATTEMPT INTO THE WIND!!!!!! the CLOSEST TIME TO HIM was 11.6 from guys that had already time in the 10.9s YES THE WIND WAS THAT MUCH OF A FACTOR....he also ran the 200m a COUPLE of times and ran a 21.8 and ran the 400m in 48.8 seconds.... so his speed is LEGIT
Noel Devine has been SUPPOSEDLY timed at 4.35 in the 40 by HIS COACHES, i have YET to see a COMBINE REPORT, he did bench 315lbs so he is strong, however, his TRACK TIMES dont really back his 40 time, he reportedly only ran LOW 11s int he 100m and ran 22.6 in the 200m....NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE if you ask me....
other Notable FACTS are that Bradly Stephens is a JUST NOW turning 17yrs old going into his Sr season, Devine was 17yrs old as a SOPH....so how old will Devine be when he graduates!??!?!?!?! Also Bradly Stephens is a 4.0GPA student, no kids, no baggage.....Devine REPORTEDLY has a 2.2GPA and has like 3 kids, kinda seems like a little bit of EXTRA baggage if you asked me....
Bradly Stephens is the MORE impressive of the 2 RBs, i also FIRMLY believe he will be the TOP RB IN THE NATION as a SR, i heard he's gonna be playing at about 200 to 205lbs next season....i also KNOW he's been working on his speed, so a 4.3 wouldnt be too much to as for next season...

You maybe right, but Bradly Stephens is going to have a tough time being the top back in Texas, Dont get me wrong he is a great back but next year has 5 to 10 RB's that could be in the top 50 RB in the nation. Only time will tell who is the best. I just love the fact that Texas will have over 40 D-1 RB's this year and next year looks just as strong if not stronger.

I agree with Texas-Raised...Ed Turner of Mayde Creek and Andre Dean of Katy have to be in the running.

I'll also have to go with Fozzy Whitaker, from Pearland.
He was a top 5A RB when he was a sophmore, last year. This year he was incredible. Next year I'm looking for records to be broken!
Not very big at 5'9 185, but he reminds me of Tomlinson in the fact that he has great break away speed and dodge in and dodge out ability.
If he focuses on his vision he could fit the mold of a Reggie Bush. (Reggie's biggest asset is his vision. He can see on all sides, therefore can make cuts - in his head - way before they happen.
Whitaker!
Oh and Chris Ganious out of North Shore. He's tough and explosive!

If you come to see Pearland it will be basically for Whitaker. There is no depth, what-so-ever returning from the varsity. (Well, there is a few players....but nothing to be excited about!) But then I don't know much about their JV squads.

this class will be led by one tre newton. he will be a beast by his sr year, and a pretty good rb with all the skills required of a rb anywhere in football, besides. he will be the highest recruited rb in texas.

charles opeseyitan #37 for allen!!!!! he was probably one of the best juniors this year and will be a star next year!!

Will his numbers be down next year Because of Allens QB, and their throwing Offense.

Allen will have a good passing offense next year, but they will still let Charles have his share of the ball. He will definetly be a key factor if Nathan gets injured again next season.

whats your point..are we comparing teams or players..I dont think all those scouts wanting him would be on him if they didnt think he was good..the guy has been getting scouted since he was 14 years old..freshmen...

Took his team to the playoffs for the 1st time in 10 yrs. and the 2nd time in the schools history. This kid single handily changes the game. Forget the South Texas crap. This kid is being recruited by pretty much every D1 school in the nation. He was one of the few kids this season who performed above the preseason hype given to him. On the field this year nobody put up the type of numbers he did in the regular season. Led the State regular season in rushing playing only 9 games ( 1 gm canceled due to hurricane evalcuation in Corpus ). The top RB this year comes from South Texas, no doubt about it.
brad@sunshinepreps
12-19-2005, 02:38 PM
Stephens is a great RB no doubt about it, doesnt matter if he is playing in Alaska, He can run the ball. But you cant say he is the best RB in the state no doubt about it. He might be the best, but there are 3 to 5 other RB's that will try to prove they are the best RB. That is a good thing for Texas HS football. When someone as good as Stephens comes along and there are 3 to 5 guys that could be as good or better than him. Make no doubt about it last year going into spring E. Moody was the #1 RB in the State, now if you go by Rivals or Scout which I dont, because I watch more tape than most in the state, but if you do, now Michael Goodson is #1. So you have to let things play out. Trust me, everyone thinks Stephens is a great RB. But to say he is the clear cut #1 is taking away from what the other RB's in the state have done and make you sound very biased.

How bout Tre Newton - Maybe not the top, but one of The Greats.
Pearland1
12-19-2005, 02:56 PM
Newton is good but not a super back. He runs good but does not cut back like other top running backs in high school.
Dragon Daddy I don't think he will be best running in Texas.
brad@sunshinepreps
12-19-2005, 04:45 PM
Newton was the best RB on the field for either Team and he is a Soph. Cutting back and his vision of the play developing will come with more carries over the next 2 years. Tre does have the size and speed to be a D-1 player, he may keep growing and be a big WR or even moved over to Def at the next level . But you cant said the kid doesnt have talent.
brad@sunshinepreps.net
yea hes what only a soph?? he is more of a power back..Stephens is more of a scatback...

your and my opinions won't change the facts. wait and see. when tre checks in at the nike combine next year with 3000 yds rushing for his soph and jr years and weighing 225 with a 4.45 forty and great pass blocking and receiving skills to go along with his awesomely humble and mature personality, he'll be the belle of the ball.

I think Foswhit Witaker is a better running back and he is being recruited by the Notre Dame.
brad@sunshinepreps
12-20-2005, 12:54 AM
What were F. Witaker's stats this year I have not heard. Also is he getting any bigger, Last I read he was about 5-10 175.

hey brad, What do you think about Joseph Reese from Pflugerville. He seems to be getting a lot of attention, and I think that he may end up as the highest rated back in Texas
brad@sunshinepreps

We ran a story on Reese a while back, He looks very good. The stuff we have on him is from his Soph year but it looks as good as most SR's this year heres the link to the highlights

They are really good, All of the highlights of good players look really good, and that is the extent of my being able to evaluate players. I love watching the highlights, but I have no idea whether somebody is better than somebody else just by looking at the highlights
