they'll be put into a varsity district in 10 along with vandergrift. they currently are open to juinors and sophmores and will have a senior class when they begin varsity play. it is in leander and both will begin varsity play the same year
Is the head coach job at Rouse open?

Is the head coach job at Rouse open?
No. Filled by member of Cedar Park's staff a while ago.
I new that, (Coach Mane or man.. from cedar park) thats why I was suprised to hear that they might be looking to go in a different direction and be looking for someone else.

They've only been open one year dude. No problems over there with that freshman team last year that I heard of. :)
Yes I understand dude! Will they be in the district with Cedar Park?
Good luck to the guy hope they can get it done.

When does Rouse plan on hiring their coordinators? Isn't spring ball right around the corner? Seems like they would like to have the kids LEARN the defense/offense before they put on the pads.

I dont think it will be long before all of the schools in the Leander/Cedar Park area (including the steinar ranch high school) will be in 4a.

that was the reason I heard they might want to replace or be looking for a new head coach, the one there was not getting things rolling like things should be. Anyway guess they will either get it going or find a replacement.

That is silly, really. You think that coach is sitting around able to hire someone and not doing it because he enjoys to be short handed? Good grief.
stupid posts, both of yours

I hope it is Josh Mann, he's a great coach!
I know he brought Tony Cooper from Wichita Falls to Rouse too. That was a GREAT move. Coop is a player's coach if I've ever seen one.

Some of the posts on here go to show you how very little some people know.
-- Rouse opened this year with a Freshman class and they will add a class each year. Football will begin Varsity play in 2010 all other team sports will be Varsity this coming season.
-- Almost of the sports programs have had a good year.
Football especially.
The freshman A team lost 2 games this year and both of the losses were to JV/Sophmore teams- and they played good teams
The B team won 4 games total, but stat-wise and mentally, they improved every week.
This is especially notable because as 7th and 8th graders, most of the kids only won 1 game as middle schoolers. Some of the kids that came from a different MS, had not won any games.
I am not too sure what the purpose of doing Spring ball would be when you are not going in to a varsity season. I think that the coach would prefer to have 2 weeks of 2 a days with the 8th grade class coming up, versus, doing spring ball and not being able to use the 8th graders. just my opinion...
Rouse will be entering 8-3a along with Vandergrif in a 5 team district.
As for the job being open- Sorry D-1, you are sadly mistaken. I can't even imagine where or who you heard than from, but they had their facts wrong.
Seems kind of silly that anyone would even state that considering that the school has been open only 1 year. Hell, they gave the VR coach 5 or 6 years.

I'd certainly recommend spring drills. The returning athletes get four good weeks in pads, capped by a vigorous spring game. IMO, that just can't be replace by one extra week in the fall.
As for next year's freshman, they can start a week earlier than the returning players. I know at SP we have a freshman camp every year the week prior to everyone else reporting.

I'm not the coach, that was just my guess. I am sure he has his reasons. Another thing that I thought of is that most of the football players also do other sports and with only 1 class to work with, what would really be the point? What I mean by that is that you have most in track and baseball. Those kids are tied up in those sports, so doing spring ball would not really be productive with only a few that aren't in baseball and track.
Now, I would think that the coach will do SB next year- he'll have 2 classes to work with and by that point, almost-Juniors usually have their sports narrowed and the ones that focus mainly on football will likely just be in track in the spring and not multiple sports. You will have some that play baseball of course, but not the entire football team.
They did freshman camp at Rouse last year too.
I'm sure that he knows what he's doing

Interesting. Except for varsity post-season, track & baseball are both finished by May 5. Normally, I'd think that a coach would want to get at least a few weeks of spring ball in (nothing says he has to use all the time allowed by the UIL). JV football is such a big jump up from freshman, especially in the centex area.
But you're right - there are likely other things involved with a new school that we don't realize. We'll learned about it here in Round Rock in 2010 when Cedar Ridge opens with grades 9 & 10.

I hope that's the case. LISD is spreadin talent too thin in my opinion.
