I just started thinking about how next year there will be two 64 team brackets in 5A football and that will mean that the state games will be on the same day. If Fox Sports is going to televise them, do you think that they will force the UIL to have the games at a central location? I am not sure what they are legally allowed to do, but I can only imagine that the people at Fox are not happy about this. I was wondering if anything has been said about this yet?

I would think that they would just have to make sure the games are at times where they wouldnt run into each otheer, so they could broadcast one and immediately go to the next one, kinda like college football saturday, but thats a tough question.

For a physical center of Texas - would look for a site near San Angelo.

For population center (guessing a bit) - would look for a site near Bryan.

For center of winning - gee that could start a big controversy - but looks like DFW Metroplex is it for 2005...

San Angelo - that's funny. It will be a mess for sure. Of course, with further dilution you could very well have Euless Trinity playing Laredo United for the D1 title next year - hold your excitement. I say let 'em play in Matamoris

There was an article in local paper stating that FSN would like to have all the games at one location with 2 games on friday and 3 on saturday starting with 2A all the way up to 5A and make it a huge texas event with record attendances. I'll see if I can find it then post it for everyone to read.

We'll 4A be expanded next year also (similar to 5A)?

If I'm not mistaken the new rule goes for all classifications. As far as a central location I don't know that you can figure that one out until you knew what four team would be meeting for each of the titles.

no, 5A were the only ones that voted for it.

So, 128 5A teams will be in the playoffs?? Why don't we just let everyone in?... it's headed in that direction anyway. You will see more 2-8 and 3-7 teams in next year.

This year, the games should've been in Waco or College Station to be in the center of Judson-Trinity and SLC-Katy.

Then Longview might accidentally win a game and the UIL can't have that!:p
