Dallas South Oak Cliff forfeited their 2005 4A state basketball championship because they used 3 ineligible players. The title was awarded to SA Sam Houston. Didn't another Dallas ISD school forfeit a title in football?

heard the refused, the whole inellgiblity thing is blown to far out of proportion.

The guy was failing algebra, and wasn't really up to that math level so he was placed in a lower math class so he would be able to pass basically remedial or w/e. The issue came when the grades were being processed he past his remedial, but the grade conflict came from the old math class. Its not common it happens a lot, but in reality no ones fault when that happen.

SOC had to forfeit a second title. They reported it like, earlier this week. Kevin Rodgers was one of the ineligible guys, as was Darrell Arthur when they forfeited the first one.

I knew about the 2006 forfeit with Shady... and I knew about the Rogers grade change (we have had to deal with that up here), however, I was unaware they had actually been forced to give up the '05 title.

Yea it was a messed up deal..They were disqualified for the grade issues with one player who had supposedly failed the first 6 weeks, so the Grand Prarie was suppose to take their place..Then they were reinstated after DISD said that he did infact pass...Then several lawsuits were filed and they continued and the UIL said Dallas Carter was indeed ok and the grade issue was worked out and then the lawsuits kept going and people were trying hard to get the UIL to make them forfiet after week 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and then 5..all the way up to the title game..Finally around weeks 4 the UIL said there would be no more talk of forfieting and such until after the season and it wasn't until 1991 that the title was actually stripped from them..its just a bad deal all around...That was definately one of the most talented teams to ever play ball in the state of Texas...especially on defense..It was 11 beasts on defense...What a shame..it really is...After that season, several players got into some big time legal trouble with robbery charges and several did some major prison time over it...Lives were turned upside down with the season in question....like I said..its just a shame.
