Why dosen't the team post weights and hieghts on their roster sheet.( would be interresting to know how we match-up size wise Did Renfro play at all during the game.(didnt notice him ,not that you needed him) How does a school in the D2 bracket have so many players to choose from(looks as if there are more players than students not playing)Just 130 on the roster. and how do you get your players so big?

I was actually thinking about typing it as a joke, but that is not something to joke about.

Why dosen't the team post weights and hieghts on their roster sheet.
I am not sure why.
Did Renfro play at all during the game.(didnt notice him ,not that you needed him)
Renfro did not play

Those players are both the varsity and the JV players as they were brought up for the playoffs. Carroll also has 52 seniors, which I feel is the most that they have ever had.
and how do you get your players so big?
I think it has to do with their strength and conditioning programs, but they actually are not that big. The O-line is big, but the rest of the players are relatively small with the exception of a couple on defense.

During the playoffs the Dragons bring up the JV..they don't play but the experience is valuable in the coaches view. Renfro was dressed but did not play, the kids are no different from any other top program..they start lifting in the 7th grade.

I don't recall seeing an opponent's weight/size on any rosters Lufkin posted this year - not sure if the SLC roster had Lufkin's sizes. Lufkin brought up and suited out about ten or so players from the JV this year - pretty normal stuff. I had several fans state SLC players up front appeared semi-massive this year. I can only imagine what they might say about ET.

I think our biggest O-lineman is #77 Prince at about 275. On D Boydston is the largest @ 6'2" around 240-250...Lufkin nor Carroll had hts & wts on the printed roster I got..has'nt been on any all year for either team..I think coaches don't want that info put out anymore.

I just don't think of our line as that big. Our Oline is about average. We faced many that were bigger. Stacy, Drescher, Buford are decent size, but only 230-245ish. They may look bigger since they are stocky with not much height out there.

I highly doubt anyone will add in a steroid comment since people have said it about both of the teams in this state game. I haven't heard it so much this year, with the drug testing and all, but I have heard it many times about Katy and it's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard for people to believe a team wins because of steroids. So please, save everyone the time of having to read it and save yourself the embarassment if you believe these teams take steroids to win.

Coaches don’t want scouts to know how big the team is. If he did post the heights & weights then they will all be 6’2 275. And SLC has on of the smaller teams in 5A. Given there are some big old boys on the team but SLC main strength is their speed. And for the summer training ha-ha. Allen did the same work out Geno is just a good business man he goes to a lot of the schools. And no there not unique work outs for SLC.

I see atleast one comment that somebody links Carroll and steroids once a week. Here is one that was posted not too long ago.

It is not what workout you do, but how you do it. Anybody can do the same workout that Carroll does, but that does not mean they do it as intensely as they do.

First off, the school has as many players as they want mainly b/c Southlake "breeds" dragons from 1st grade on.

Second, why post weights when they are constantly changing throughout the year. That is for college teams

Third, our players get big because football season NEVER ends. They are lifting and practicing ALL year long. If you are on the football team, you are also required to be on Track. Track to build endurance and speed. During the summer you are training all summer long . . . oh . . . and its not manditory, its because the players want to.

From what I've seen of Southlake, they are not big at all. McElroy is big for a quarterback, but that's about it. I've noticed a lot of teams don't post their dimensions, but I have also noticed that a majority of people lie about their dimensions big time.

SLC is not that big of a team. Dallas Carter is a big team. SLC is pretty small if you ask me. Adam Ulatoski is the biggest kid I have seen play for SLC over the past few years and he was listed at 6'6 270 coming out of high school. Chris Olson is listed at 6'5 280 by Rivals and Michael Boydston is listed at 6'3 260. When compared to other Metroplex area teams, that isn’t big at all. Kids like Renfro are 170 pounds soaking wet. SLC is proof that discipline and technique will beat size any day of the week.
