I'm in Dallas and I hadn't heard about any snow. I also checked the forecast and it said that the high's will be in the lower 50's Friday and Saturday. Where did you hear or see that forecast.

Throwing the ball in the cold and rainy conditions may change things up for both teams- what's that I smell... Here comes the speculations.

that would definitely benefit Katy.
anything to slow down SLC.

Texas Stadium, even with the hole in the roof, is relatively sheltered from weather...if it really tries hard it can get wet or icy on the field..seats for the most part, stay dry.

As of Tuesday morning (4 am)
Intellicast says: 47/34 Mix of rain and snow showers. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s.
Weather.com says: 48/31 Rain / Snow Showers
weather.msn.com says: 47/34 Rain/Snow Showers
None of these have been tremendously viable this far out - particularly as it relates to precipitation.
Do note that Texas Stadium is susceptible to 'foggy' conditions in high humidity periods. This will favor precision passing where the defenders will be less able to see and respond to the QB positioning and balls in air.

"Men, Just an adverse condition. Be an athlete." Mike Johnston to team during the Mayde Creek monsoon of '97 (AKA Mayde Streak Game)
I remember Katy playing well in most weather conditions, except in '94- colder than a witch's titty cold, and loss to Plano in finals at Kyle Field
SLC's history playing in "adverse weather" conditions?

SLC has not played in any bad weather this year that I can recall. However, there were several games played in the rain in 20002, 2003 and 2004. It didn't seem to affect the team at all. They continued to throw the ball and run their offense and it didn't increase turnovers.
I'm remebering a Dallas vs Miami game in the early 90's I think. Maybe a Monday night game. The field was totally coverd in snow. Camera's could just barely pick up the players on the field. I was cold just watching it on TV.
Does TS have those little hot water heaters under the field like some stadiums do? Thanks to SLC I won't have to indure this one.

That was a Thanksgiving game when Leon Lett jumped in and touched the ball on a Miami punt. Miami recovered scored and won the game. And yet Leon was not finished with stupidity having the ball knocked out of his hand before crossing the goaline in a Super Bowl.
TS has no provisions for cold weather. In the late 80's (I think the last time the Pokes made the playoffs under Landry), they played LA or the Cardinals in the 1st round. It had been below freezing for over a week. Pipes in TS were frozen. No running water, no concessions, nnly Port-a-Poties. There were less than 20,000 and the place was chaos. Don't think that will be a problem Saturday.
They've had plenty of time to fix that stupid hole in the roof. Seems like it's been there forever. ;)

Just wait until the Cowboys move out - then it will get really pretty there.

But.... But.... The rain or snow might make the L'oreal or Revlon start to run out of the "little blond boys" hair. Man this could be a determining factor. Better get to the hair salon now. We wouldn't want your little eagos to get hurt.

The coldest and nastiest weathered Katy game that I can recall was the '97 playoff game against Elsik. It was around 34 degrees with a rain/sleet mix, along with a driving wind. Katy got 'er done in OT though, 17-14. :D

As a professional meteorologist I'll throw in my two cents. Try to understand that the frozen precip/snow forecast are for the late night/early morning hours and not noon to 3PM. With highs in the mid to upper 40's any precipitation will be straight rain and likely very light since the models show the moisture leaving the area early Saturday before dawn. At noon in Dallas unless you've got one hell of an inversion aloft forget about fog. One significant factor might be winds which look like they will be fairly light through the game, thus not discouraging the passing attack.

foggy 'in' the stadium as there is limited flow thru and the hole at the top is only real outlet.

No. No . No. Since low stratus is likely through the day moisture at the surface will
not cool significantly to the dewpoint causing fog formation. Periods of light mist could conceivably reduce visibility slightly due to the effect of the stadiums lighting layout but nothing that would hide a QB or WR. With little mixing occuring in a stadium of that nature "fog" is even less of a possibility. That stadium with that climate is more susceptible to haze in August and September due to stable atmosphere and stagnant polluted air settling over the field and not having a chance to escape.
