Bernard Scott and Johnny Knox are putting up mighty good numbers at the NFL Combine. Scott is in the top peformers in pretty much every drill save the bench press. Knox is up there in most of 'em, too. Knox ran a 4.34 40 yard dash......

Maybe NCAA09 is right, he is slow as hell.

There is no way Bernard Scott does not contribute next year - kind of a faster, smaller Felix Jones IMO.

Chase -- put down the cheeseburger son.

A lot of GMs are scared by his long pre-ACU character issues. It's a tough call. The problems he had mean that a 4th round talent will likely fall to about the 6th or maybe even lower....

Did Chase Daniel and Colt McCoy take completely different turns in college?

Chase seems to have gotten slower, bigger, and less athletic.

Colt seems to have gotten faster, bigger, and even more athletic.

Thank you Mad Dog.

yeah, since 40 times are such good indicators of mobility and have proven to be time and time again...

cd can move. he ran for almost 1,000 yards in college. if he gets drafted or signed, no nfl team is going to expect him to have michael vick mobility. he'll be fine as far as mobility is concerned. if the nfl combine website weight is right, cd actually has lost some weight from the season.

I agree, especially with a QB...40 times dont mean jack for a QB unless your Mike Vick or Randall Cunningham or Vince Young...and even then it doesn't ammount to squat. Drew Brees, Doug Flutie and other smaller type QB's haven't ran the 40 in very quick times, but then again they aren't built to do so either...And even guys like Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler didn't run great times either...It meant nothing for those 4 guys that I mentioned that ran slow and other than Randall, it seemingly meant nothing for the 2 that were some of the quicker QB's either.

One thing to consider with Chase (and I know you know this Yankee, its for those who dont) is that he has only ran when he felt like he needed to do so, after plays broke down, he has never looked to run at all. He ran in high school because he had to at times, but also because he could as well. In college he ran even less because of the recieving talent around him. Its never been Chase's game to run, like it is with other players, its just a very small part of Chase's game. He has always looked to pass first and run absolutely last. And then, if he does run, as you said he can move...mobility in a QB isnt in straight ahead running anyway...its lateral movement that counts with QB's and Chase has very good lateral movement.

Johnny Knox is improving his status by leaps and bounds. Because of Scott's off the field issues Knox may even end up passing him. Knox was looking at a FA slot until the combine but is now firmly in draft territory. He can go even higher after the pro day at ACU.

When i made my comment in another thread, i didnt mean it as a cause for concern. I just figured, from what i saw from him in high school that if he were to run a 40 yard dash it would be no slower than 4.75.

Based on what i saw from him in high school, i would have put him with stephen mcgee in that 4.66 range.
