Not really... it was just that good of a movie. It was much better than Benjamin Button which was quite boring anyways. This movie deserves every award.

TWCP has an Australian connection with Nicole Kidman... he's upset that Australia didn't win more awards.;)

Most times I can't stand her whiney aura. But she was surprisingly good in that film. Oscars no longer go for epics though. So they had no hope.

I guess we shouldn't have been surprised with Sean Penn - I was for Mickey Rourke -- whatever.

How about Laserdisc?

when we were kids, one of my friend's dads ran a TV store. They had just about every movie that was ever put on a laserdisc at their house...

On an ensuing Thanksgiving break after high school, one day we took those laserdiscs and used them for *****...(s-k-e-e-t is censored?)

They were too easy to hit though.( for those of you that don't know, they were like giant CDs with movies on them. They were about the same size as an LP record. Along with beta video cassettes, laserdiscs never made it.

Saw The Reader, the film Kate Winslet won the award for. You see an awful lot of her in that film.

I don't mean awful bad. I mean awful as in a lot of her natural self.
