View Full Version : Justin Northwest HS
**LIKELY** TERRY GAMBILL While at Allen, Gambill ran the defense of the team that won the State 5A Division 1 Championship in 2008 with a 15-1 record. Allen was considered one of the top defenses in the state last year. What made Allen’s first 14-win season even more impressive is the fact that the Eagles had done so with a new defensive scheme. The team switched to the 3-4 in the off-season. Much of the credit for that went to Gambill. Recently, Gambill has run offseason clinics teaching defenses to other area coaches including how to transition from 4-3 to 3-4 Defensive schemes. Gambill has also been offensive cordinator at Allen in prior seasons. NISD AD (formerly of Allen HS).
**OUT** DANE JOHNSON who accepted the Borne HC position the same day that the Justin Northwest job was posted. He was rumored when former Justin Northwest coach was interviewing (former Allen assistant).

I have it on good authority that Gambill is the man.

Russell would be a great choice. However, that lady AD only thinks that people from Allen can get the job done!!! Good luck getting a better man then Coach McAngus...

If he is going to be the man there, NWISD will be getting a great man as well as a great coach. I have that on great authority. But hopefully he might wait one more year to leave since his son will be a senior next year. That is the selfish fan in me speaking out.

To an earlier poster's point, the AD over there is looking to create a new Allen there in the North side of Ft. Worth.

As someone that has been a head coach for 13 years now and has been in this business for 17, what I am about to say will probably come a shock to some of you that are not in this business.
1. It's not what you know, it's who you know...or...
2. Who you know got you the job, what you know keeps the job!
This is more true than many of you care to believe!

This has always been true. Good luck on building another Allen. There are some big differences. Allen is still a one horse town and Northwest will open Byron Nelson HS next fall with plans to open several more High schools in the coming years...
