If you referring to playing Katy again in the State Championship - I think Christams came early for Dragon fans – as this was the match up on all Dragon fans wish list. All SLC wanted; is to play Katy again. May the best team win.

Thats right, all SLC wanted was to play Katy again. I mean IF they beat us again, more power to them, but IF we beat them, we avenge so much from 2 years ago. I actually think SLC may have the motivational edge going into this one, even with no trash talk. All the teams that play SLC are soooo hyped, they want to be the ones. mj is undoubtedly the best receiver on a team filled with wr talent. he is playing like a madman this year. he's making everyone pay for the unfortunate injury last year. i am putting in my vote for him as the poy on offense. he's ridiculous.

Early in the playoffs I had hoped for the Dragons to face Abilene, Lufkin, and Katy. As we got closer to the matchup with Katy, I began to look at their games a little more closely. They have had a monster year with win margins that match up with SLC if not better. I don't know much about their level of competion other than SV but they appear to have dominated everyone they played.

This game should be great! SLC always has a target on them as they are every team's championship game. Against Katy they get a chance to avenge their one loss. The players and coach Dodge have said revenge is not a factor but I don't know how it couldn't be. They should be sky high (hope this won't negatively affect them) and Katy will be wanting to show that their previous win against SLC was no fluke.

Good luck to both teams. Drive safe Katy fans, and lets get a huge crowd for these very deserving teams!:)

You're going a little overboard with your comments Oldman. I would not say that a 1 point win was" shoving it down out throats" or that we were "dominated physically". Yes, the better team on that day one and Katy deserved it. Itwas not a fluke. Show me one SLC fan on this baord who stated that the 03 team was "bad". That hasn't happened. What has been said is that the 05 team is better han the 03 team. As someone who has seen every Dragon game in the past 4 years I happen to agree with that. The defense is clearly better this year than in 03 and the offense is at least as good. The only part of the game that I belive is not as good in 05 is the kicking game. None of this means that SLC will win this game on Sat. I believe the Dragons win by 10-14 points but that's just my humble opinion.

We had a run similar but not quite as good from 97-00. 97 won state, 98 undefeated state ranked 1 disqualified right before state game, 99 upset by garland in state or as SLC would put it a fluke, 00 16-0 no one came close to beating us. look at his stats for one. he is the only full time receiver on the dragons for a reason. ask any lp fan about the espnness of some of his catches yesterday. he is tough, runs great routes, and can and will catch anything he can get to, which with his speed and determination, is almost everything. he is undoubtedly our best receiver.

it was a close game that each team could have easily won...we caught some breaks, but with so much talent on one field, the winning team must catch breaks to win, we capitalized and its over... but that game has no bearing or parallel with this game...in 2003 the katy D was much tougher and we had a great ball control running back, this year, we have a much more dynamic offense, so we will be attempting to play stride for stride with SLC. likewise, SLC at the time was an offensive juggernaut, now they are as balanced a team as any in the state, agnew is just as good as thompson, boydston is outstanding too. the SLC dline vs the katy oline is going to be a marvelous match up...

2/3 of that is gone now, dont be fooled into thinking dodge will make the same mistake again, coaching in this game is even, period.

1. The win in '03 was NOT a fluke.
2. Both teams are better this time around.

3. Going for it on 4th and 1 to run out the clock was the right thing to do. If you can't gain 1 yard to end the game in that situation, you probably deserve whatever happens afterwards.

I'm not sure that you and I have had Kaspar/Dalton debates...I stayed out of that one. I think Jared could have been just as effective and would have put up similar numbers in a similar offense. My boy Matt Gore could have done quite well in this offense too! However, it would be hard for ANY QB to duplicate Andy's ridiculous 1 TD for every 5 attempts.

I saw oldman's post and I saw your response. As usual, I fall somewhere in the middle. Katy did run it down Carroll's throats in some respects...how else to you produce 17 play drives? But...Katy did not dominate the game...how could that be true if the margin was just 1? As I recall, SLC ran it down Katy's throats in the second half of the game and with Chase Daniel's running, they nearly salted the game away. One interesting note about that game is that Carroll only threw for 2 more yards than Katy and threw 1 INT vs. Katy's 0. In the end, Katy completely neutralized Carroll's passing offense and still barely escaped with the win. To me, that shows how closely the teams were matched and that the best team won.

BigWhiteJake (thats me), I'm pissed because you put the game in a logical perspective giving credit to both teams. I am angry because I was on that team, and I have a ring with my name on it, that should probably say Mouton, Longacre, Parker, Lewis, Stewart, Hasoon, Thornton, Aston, or one of the other starters instead, but it doesn't it says DERR HERR in big gold letters. People like you who use unbias logic piss me off because I cannot wrap my fragile little mind around it. I will live in Katy the rest of my life, and the next great thing I can hope for is that my boy (DERR HERR Jr) is a superstar ball player for KHS.

I apologize to all you intelligent Katy football players for having to read this. Cody Lopasky, Joey Welch, Andy Dalton, Jake Straka, Ethan Steadman, Will Anderson, Darren Konesheck, David Sadowski, Don Bishop, Dre, Alex Barton, Sam Justus, any of these guys and numerous others have bright futures with or without football.

Basically, the guy that just threw me the special ed F bomb was probably a scrub on the team, and now just nags anyone who says anything sensable.
