The OC left to become the head coach at Joshua; taking two coaches with him. The DC left to become the DC in Roundrock. Now, they are saying the new OC is going to be the head coach at Whitney and might take a few coaches with him. What's going on over there in D'ville?

On the other hand, I guess it says a lot about Jeff Dicus that all of his coaches are moving up.

The D'ville program is one I was watching with interest for next year. I too wonder what impact this will have.

I for one hope they get it straightened out just right after their first game.

He seems like a good guy to me; but my son doesn't play for him. He definitely seemed to turn the program around in Duncanville. Is he hard to work for or something?

just check the attrition in his staff over the years. and who gets run out of town after building a program from nothing to a state champion?

Think he would consider the Dallas Cowboys?:) That is exactly the kind of help they seem to need.

A couple of things.
Duncanville is not Lake Travis. Nothing against Duncanville but two different worlds.
More importantly Dicus is a great coach and that means he will have good coordinators that will move up to HC ranks. Is just how it works.
The DC that is moving to Round Rock could be something as simple as RR is closer to Austin where he spent a bunch of time.

Without going into details.....your point is very valid...There is a reason people leave, and districts non-renew.

What do you mean? Is he hard to work for?

Try working for Anthony Wood then. That might take off 20 years.

Sounds like you guys are trying to get this thread locked down. How hard someone is to work for is all relative. What was your attitude, work ethic and level of loyalty while working for these men?

Please explain. Is he demanding? What does he do?

There is a difference. Some guys work for someone to get ahead due to reputation, record, etc. They have to put up with things such as work ethic, personality, ego, etc. Some head coaches have these characteristics in high amounts of negative. However, working for them can help a young coach achieve a goal. That is some of what happened at Duncanville. I don't have the personal details on the story at Lake Travis, but some of the stories have become fallible with what I have learned. Other experiences have taught me why some of the changes have occurred in Duncanville. The coaches that are leaving are great coaches and will succeed. Partially because of the experiences and lessons with Dicus. Some because of being connected to Dicus. That's the way it works sometimes. I am sure the same characteristics will help Dicus in hiring some good replacements. However, things that have transpired will also create some difficulties in maintaining the same rate of success at Duncanville he started to have this year.
Yes, the athletes are there, but the exiting coaches have upset the calm waters with students and parents enough to conjur up discussion and questions. Some are warranted, some are not. Time may be the only thing that heals and allows continued improvement. Will the public, school board, students, and district grant this time? We shall see.:cool:
