Now the big one!

Trinity has a bunch of big guys on the OL.(True) They have a great rushing offense and get big passing plays, too.(True) Their defense has been pretty good overall and has been real good in some games.(True)

Judson was all defense for most of the year and struggled a lot.(True) They never gave up and got to the title game.(True) I won't lie and will tell you this is the easiest game to pick this week.(Here's where the falshoods begin) Judson is the better team and will win.(FALSE)

Trinity is just not a complete enough team to beat Judson.(FALSE) They turn the ball over too much and have had penalty problems this year, but have improved in that area.(FALSE) They don't punt well and never really had to do it very much.(FALSE) It looks like they had trouble snapping the ball this year because there are some very odd 2 point conversions in their boxscores. (FALSE) They missed quite a few extra points and only got 1 FG all year. (TIE) Trinity really got hammered on defense in some games and they gave up plenty of big plays.(FALSE) They were not fast starters in a good amount of their games and they struggled quite a bit with the better teams they played (none of them were as good as Judson, though).(FALSE) They do a great job running the ball down your throat and got a lot of big plays on offense.(TRUE)

Judson has the perfect defense for ET.(FALSE) They have a great secondary that can cover the WR's and great speed all over.(TRUE) They play great gap control defense and they need that against a larger ET line.(TRUE) They cause turnovers and don't give up big plays.(TRUE, for the most part) They make you drive it down the field on them and take their chances they'll get a turnover or stop you.(TRUE) The offense is coming around and they're going to grind out yards and take away time with the running attack.(FALSE) They can put it in the air, too.(FALSE) I don't think ET will get the same plays this week that they're accustomed to.(FALSE) Westfield was a better, more complete team than ET.(FALSE) I really think Judson is a team of destiny and they're not going to lose a game in Round Rock of all places.(FALSE)

I'd like to see more of your analysis' on other posters too...say looking at their posts for the week before they werent playing anymore...but don't include anybody that was rooting against their team or predicted their team to lose; that wouldn't be as much fun.:D

While we don't always agree, Lonny is a class guy who does take his lumps as well as what he dishes out. Agree or disagree, he knows and loves Texas Football !!:cool:

I counted your numbers again. The correct number by you is:

We agree you have the big guys, had a real good defense in some games, and made big plays on offense. There is no doubt Judson struggled and fought to get to the title game. Judson wasn't the better team and didn't win.

Trinity was a complete enough team, but they did have some turnover problems in some games along with the games with zero turnovers. Judson dropped some easy picks and that meant they didn't get the 2 turnovers I said they'd get. Trinity did have penalty problems early in the year, but fixed it later in the year. Trinity never did punt much and didn't start off doing it very well, but had the problem fixed at the end of the year and did a good job in the Judson game. Trinity had extra point problems this year and had 1 blocked in the Judson game. They scored a lot and made a lot of extra points and pretty much had the problem under control late in the year, but I told the truth.

Trinity did get hammered on defense in some games and gave up big plays, but had some strong games and Judson was one of them. Trinity DID start slower in some games than desired, including the Judson game. They also made good halftime adjustments in almost all of those games and won when they didn't play quite up to their skill level in the first half. Some of those 28 point first halves should've been like 42, but I was mostly talking about the 14-21 point first halves compared to over 30 in the 2nd half and that 7 points against A&M Consolidated. Trinity does a great job running it down your throat.

Judson did have the perfect defense for Trinity. They had speed and could plug gaps. They made ET drive it down the field and covered the WR's. I didn't know Trinity was going to make them pay on D by throwing to Handy, but you have to admit that getting your big plays from throwing to the RB means Judson took away their first 2 modes of attack. ET deserves a lot of credit for having the talent to win when Judson mostly took away what the Trojans wanted to do.

The Judson offense didn't come around as much as I hoped they would. They looked good on the opening drive, but didn't get enough yards in the air and Trinity shut them down in ET territory when they really needed it. Trinity didn't get the same plays against Judson, but they found new plays with the throws to Handy. Even you will admit they got a lot more out of throwing to the RB's in that game than normal.

Westfield was not a better. more complete team than Trinity. Judson was not a team of destiny. The score was not right.

I ate my crow and I was wrong, but I wasn't as wrong as your original score said. I give ET a lot of credit and I'm happy for you guys. I didn't want you to win the title at Judson's expense, but I've wanted you guys to break through for a few years now. I like the Haka and the Tongans. I always want to know how heavy the new guys are!:D

See, you understand. I'm going to talk and tease and take my lumps when I'm wrong. I have a great time and do love football. Many people don't get that it's all fun for me. When Judson wins, I celebrate, but I still went to work the next day when they lost. For some people, it gets personal and they think they're punishing me by teasing me about being wrong. I'm just an opinionated guy and I don't mind saying something even if I haven't seen a team play. It's hard to talk about teams around the state, but I try as best I can. It was real hard this year because I didn't get to see any games.
