SLC cam in with a great gameplan and just shut us down the second half and they are the real dea. we just came up against a better team than us. nothing to be ashamed of things happen and i am so proud of the panthers.

the pack will be back.

SLC made the right adjustments at the half and LP stayed in the locker room it seems. They are having their way with The Pack this half.

GG PACK..... Let's do it again in '06

Congrats SLC.... Good Luck with Katy

The Lufkin Panthers showed a lot of class today. They will be back next year and should have a solid team. Carroll may be down a little next year, but you never know for sure. If SLC falls short next year, I will follow Lufkin as my second favorate team!!

First of all, SLC scored right before half time and went into the locker room with the momentum. Then, on Lufkin's first possession of the second half, they faked a punt and it failed giving SLC the ball at the 50. Four plays later they are in the zone and the game is over. Simple as that.

Lufkin had 26 total yards in the 3rd quarter. Outlaw was asked after the game what SLC did different in the second half and said he didn't know.

Give the Dragons credit, they are the best team in the nation. I don't look for the Katy game to be that close. Both teams are very disciplined, but I think Carroll's defense is better than in years past and this helps their already good offense.

Going to go ahead and give a prediction already: SLC 37
Katy 24

What do you mean what happened to LP? They should be proud to just have hung with SLC, thats a major accomplishment, especially without your starting QB. I'll tell you straight up, if we lost Andy, we would probably just forfeit to Southlake. 37-24 lol, yeah right...

Good job to SLC..and Good Luck against Katy

Our boys played a hard game..not a very good one...but they played hard...We played a GREAT team in SLC...and one of us had to go home and unfortunately it was us...our boys were nervous and it showed through all of our penalties..

Great game SLC

BE READY FOR US NEXT YEAR TEXAS....

THE PACK WILL BE BACK!!

Adjustments made at the half by the SLC defensive coaching staff & SLC taking it to a higher level spelled trouble for LP in the second half. That second fake punt was the turning point of the game. The dragons began to smell blood and then went in for the kill. I believe Outlaw went to the well 1 to many times with that second fake punt. I also believe Lufkin came out a little soft in the second half and the Dragons were ready to salt it away. SLC made too many blunders in the first half and did not get the chance to "KILL THEIR WILL" as Dodge has stated in previous games. The second half was an indication of how much better SLC was than Lufkin. I firmly believe next year will be Lufkins turn. They are returning a lot of starters!! If we meet again in the semi's next year, Lufkin better be ready to come to Dragon Stadium. It will be Dodges choice and he owes Outlaw for playing in such a tiny stadium!!

Hewitt had a goin injury two weeks ago. He could not play up to his usual standard against Cove, if anyone noticed, that is why he played safety much of the day. BuT SLC was just the better team today, they played great second half ball to defeat my "pack"

He had ACL tear last year, but he has not been a 100% all year, it takes more time for that to heal. I think the long season stated to wear that knee down for him.

I'll give more analysis later - but SLC definitely made good halftime adjustments. The last minute of the first half was a huge momentum shift. Lufkin made a beautiful pass to SLC 20 that was called back by a ghost offensive interference - one of several terrible calls. The next play Thomas got his arm hit and the ball ended up in a lb's lap. SLC capitalized on a beautiful pass. So, rather being LP - 23 or 27- SLC 20 -- it's the other way around.

SLC made great adjustments - really they just started stunting up the middle and it paid off big time a few plays. The Lufkin D simply ran out of emotional gas - not sure why, but they did.

It's easy. It took SLC one half to figure out we were a one dimensional team on offense today, and when they figured it out we couldnt run the football anymore. Ralph, for what it's worth, did a hell of a job today, and I am proud of him.

yeah the SLC fans complained all week about the stadium bein too small..and they couldnt even fill it up:confused: :rolleyes:I was at a Christmas Party last night (Friday). About 25 people were in attendance and all were SLC fans. Most of them go to almost all of the SLC games. Many are season ticket holders. NONE went to the Lufkin game. Why? They knew the stadium was small and they felt like they would have to travel 4 hours and then arrive 2 hours early just to get a real seat. That was how most people felt. If the stadium was larger many would have gone. I think the small stadium and the weather kept many SLC fans at home.

I'm grateful to be playing at Texas Stadium next week. EVERYBODY will be there no doubt.

Congratulations to SLC on yet another shot at the championship. I would like to say that I am dissapointed at the Lufkin fans for their lack of encouragement during the second half. The players were already discouraged due to the scoring by the other team but, for them to look up and their fans we're discouraged too, that couldn't have felt good. I was upset with the O-line in the second half, they hung the QB out to dry. But Lufkin played one hell of a first half and i'm proud of them. The Purple Swarm will return next year and this time we'll go ALL THE WAY TO STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totaly agree with you on the terrible calls. Can someone explain to me how the yardage goes on penalties? It just made me uneasy that when and I did say when the officials called a penalty on SLC they lost only 5yrds and everytime Lufkin got a penalty we lost no less than 10- 15yrds? Is their something that i'm missing?

You may be right. However, for all of the whining and crying this week. SLC did not even fill up their side of the stands.

I just want to say how proud I was of Ralph Thomas today. He carried a huge load today and did it with poise and determination.

Lufkin had nothing to be ashamed of today. They got beat, but they definately didn't back down. What a great bunch of kids!

i was really suprised to see that carrolls side wasn't full with all the complaining we heard this week about the stadium being to small.

SLC will have 30,000 next week not because of the stadium, but because you only need to drive 15 minutes to get to Texas Stadium.

If the game today HAD been at Texas Stadium, there would have be 15000 Lufkin fans there. We don't complain about the stadium, we just go!

Good win by SLC, I am sorry we could not play you @ 100% today, however those are the breaks of the game. Not only did we lose a good quarterback, we also lost a great reciever because we had to move him to QB. Congratulations and good luck against Katy.

If the game would have been played at a site with adequate seating, there would have been a lot more SLC people & SLC followers who would have been at the game. There was no guarantee mid-week there would be tickets at the gate for sale. I called SFA & they said there would not be tickets available at the gate. I wonder if Lufkin officials might have helped persuade SFA officials to reply in this manor?? Either way it did not matter. SLC rolled in the second half BIG......

We could have cared less where we played, hell....look at the score today....I actually think some of the Lufkin fans thought we were scared to play in NAC....I believe quite a few LP fans actually flattered themselves with this theory. ALL WE WANTED WAS A STADIUM THAT WOULD HOLD OUR OWN & OUR FOLLOWERS!!!!

No one has mentioned it for obvious reasons, but Hewitt pulled a growen muscle late in the game last week against Cove. You could really tell and I just felt for the guy. He gave it everything he had. I know it killed him not to be able to perform at the level he has all year. Take nothing away from Jacobson though. He is a good receiver.

Quit complaining about the calls, most of those penalties were call right. Lufkin was doomed anyway after loosing Claybon, and Willis on defense.Putting Ralph at qb took away a weapoon. You can,t expect him do have a outstanding game against them, he only had one week to prepare.Alot of those td,s could have been stopped if the db,s would turn around and see the ball, simply as that, you got to turn your head to defend the pass.

Well you had 7500 tickets with the option of getting 1500 more after you sold those. Officials stated you only presold 1900. I've heard no one say they didn't have a ticket that wanted one. I talked to some of your fans and they stated that it would be a test to see how well your fans travel. I thought your side of the stadium was very respectable to be 4 hours away, but you still didn't by no means fill your side up. SO, I don't think you can use the size of the stadium argument anymore. It wouldn't have mattered if you had seating 20K, those that wanted to make the trip and support them team did. Those that didn't just want to complain and use the size issue as an excuse!
