Congrats to Katy for the win over my Rangers. It was the tale of 2 halfs... SV is known this year for big half time adjustments (see the Judson & Madison district games, as well as the San Marcos playoff game), and once agian made the adjustments, outscoring Katy 14-0 in the 2nd half. But Katy's D was too good to give up that one final score that SV needed. The 4 & out after the fumble really killed us. :(
No excuses... Katy kicked our tails in the first half and made just enough plays on D in the 2nd to hold on for the win.

Congrats again, and here's hoping you guys beat SLC, cuz I'm tired of hearing some of their arrogant fans run their mouths on this board.

I never said anything about the officials, penalties, etc. No excuses... I simply congratulated both teams for a GREAT game from start to finish.

1. I said I wanted Katy to win because I was tired of SOME arrogant SLC fans running thier mouths. (Example: dragonfootballfan's last post in this thread, perfect example of the SLC fans I am tired of listening to)
2. dragonbkr attacked my team with the Buffalo Bills comment
3. I came back at him PERSONALLY with the 'roid comment and told him he should expect people to want his team to lose, cuz they are the top dog (isn't that a sign of respect?)
4. He lectured me about showing class (after he came at me with the Bills comment)
5. I told him not to lecture me about class when he can't follow his own rules

I never said I was "all class, all the time" in all my posts. But I always respect the team that beats SV after the game and don't make excuses on why SV lost. Was my 'roid comment wrong? Yes, but it was a knee jerk reaction to a Buffalo Bills comment made by a SLC fan who is preaching "class" in a Katy/SV thread.

It was a very good game yesterday that played out just as it was billed. Katy's defense did come up big when the game was on the line for SV and they had the ball with less than 2 min left. It could have ended with SV the winner. I am happy it didn't. Both teams played with a lot of heart and never gave in to any of the mistakes or bad calls during the game. It showed real discipline and how fine each program really is. It was great to play such a fine team in the semi-finals. I figure you will be in the hunt again next season. Happy Holidays and until next season, "look up, be watchful for your redemption draweth nigh".

Excellent game played by 2 excellent programs that are pretty much carbon copies of each other. While I am depressed about the outcome and how close we came to puling it out, I can't think of a better team than Katy for the Rangers to give up their spot in the finals to. Being so much like SV, I really do believe Katy has what it takes to knock off SLC this year. Ball control on offense, disguising coverages on defense, and great special teams play will be the ingredients Katy needs to pull out the victoy at Texas Stadium.

Sendejo will play soccer and Beyer, Fuller, & Volz will play baseball. SV has never had a 5A Player of the Year like SLC, unless you count this website picking Joe Pawelek as last year's Defensive Player of the Year. BTW, Joe is playing baseball at Baylor.
