It looks like Jeff Rhodes will be the new off. coordinator at Permian. He has been at Katy and Brownwood as quarterbacks or runningbacks coach. He is replacing Brandon Faircloth who left to take over at Port Neches.

That will get you from the third to the fourth round of the playoffs alone. :D

Heck we'd already be state champs again if we were R3 D2 LOL;)

Just Joking...glad we picked up a good coach; I was a little concerned when Faircloth left to PNG

Coach Rhoads was quarterbacks coach at Katy and his loss hurt. He is good at pushing players. He was the OC for the JV and i think he will do just fine.

Good luck to Coach Faircloth on his new position as HC! He's got all the tools.

And...

Welcome to Permian Coach Rhoads! Glad to have another Brownwood-Ex. That place is a football coach factory!

Permian is lucky to have grabbed Rhoads. He was a heck of a football coach, but an even better man. As a WR, I worked with him a lot, and he really knows how to get the most of out his players. The QBs always loved him. I'll never forget Coach Rhoads and his words of wisdom everyday before practice while we were warming up with the QBs. Real funny guy, class act, family man. He took a break from coaching at Katy and took over as the caregiver for the Outdoor Learning Center so he could spend more time with his wife and young children. Good luck to Coach Rhoads in his new journey.

Speaks volumes about him as a good man, and not only a good coach.

I'd also like to know. I would have responded to your PM had I known anything. :D

I think he was at Brownwood in the late 90s, went to Katy for a few years, got out of coaching as was stated earlier, then went back to Brownwood where he has been until now. From everything I have heard we are fortunate to have him.

Just found my old Katy programs. He was here in '04. I'm not sure if he left before '05 or '06.

I hear he also has a QB son, will be an 8th grader next season. I like those coach's sons at QB. :D
